I wouldn't mind ,as other than giving us a convenient means of getting our protein it is pretty sickening eating a dead animal. The thing is to find another source of protein, beans, legumes, tofu etc., as we are not used to these foods on a regular basis, one really has to acclimate to these new sources. We would have to add vitamins. If it's life or death, I'm all for life SO bring on the tofu.....

World Government? Canceling meat as a food resource? I think i'd feel like adding the leaders of this world govt. to the hunting list.
What I find curious is the idea that you would find this the easy way out for the sake of life. Humans started eating meat as soon as we could catch it. I fail to see how it is wrong now. Would we try to turn the tiger into a vegetarian?
If "meat" were suddenly outlawed, would we be turning all the cattle and chickens, etc. loose to roam on their own?

Well, if you look at the way humans are designed, we are meant to eat meat. It's the natural order of things, so it's not really an "easy way out for the sake of life." Neverthless, if that happened I would protest and be really angry. I mean, we live in a free society right? So if we are allowed to make other decisions in our lives, then we should be allowed to choose what we want to eat. The better thing for the government to do would be to rid of fast food places and junk food in schools. At least this would be healthy.

I think I would like that a lot, but then again, I wouldn't be able to enjoy the ocational cheese steak sub from subway, or the simple cheese burger from burger king, or the chicken teriyaki sub, or the chicken salads! or the chicken wraps (that are indeed healthy) !!!!
oh my goodness, on second though.... maybe just cancel out red meat..... I just realized I CAN live without red meat but NOT CHICKEN!!!!!!

I would be lost! I don't always agree with how the meat is obtained, farmed or slaughtered but do enjoy it on my plate!

Fruits and vegetables don't grow
all year round, around here.
Birds gotta fly,
Fish gotta eat.
That's part of life.

well, i'm vegetarian, so i wouldn't care too much, but i still think it'd be unfair...people should decide whether they want to eat meat or not.

EXCELLENT!!!!!! I am a vegetarian, so this would be good for me. Probably it wouldn't go over so well though with many others.
