I want to just reinstall Windows Vista. I have gotten to the last step which is like completing installation. It has been there for over an hour. I am just wondering if it is supposed to take that long. If not, can I like restart the computer or something so it possibly will work? Do I have to put in another CD?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you. I am doing a clean install. I just got this computer a few months ago, so it is new.

Tips & Warnings
• You cannot actually uninstall Windows Vista. If you wish to get rid of it, you must install another operating system on your computer instead. This will overwrite Windows Vista. If you install another version of Windows, it will not write over your files that were stored on Windows Vista. Instead, it will give you the option to import them into the new operating system. Still, it is always a good idea to back up all your files before making any major changes to your computer.
• As a precaution against accidental deletion, you cannot format your main hard drive while Windows Vista is in use. You must do it with the installation disc instead.

With the slowest PC, it should not take more than an hour at the end of it... give it another 20 minutes, if no change then you will need to reformat the hard drive and do a clean install... Good luck

Well it took me like 20 minutes, if I remember correctly. My computer is fairly new but, an hour seems like a little too long. There shouldn't be another CD. Try restarting -- can't hurt anything. It should pick up where it left off.
