Yes Corgis can be extremely dominant, due in large part to the herding background. It can be extremely dangerous to allow this behavior to continue. The dog needs at minimum obedience training, and probably a trained behaviorists.
I volunteer in Corgi Rescue, and just read about a dominant Corgi female who was killed when she tried to attack a mother dog with pups.
The group with the link below is an association of experienced behavior centered trainers and is a good place to find a qualified person. Please don't take this lightly, for the sake of you and your dog.

I've had 5 female Pembroke Welsh Corgis, a couple of them very dominant. Since I'm in charge it hasn't been a problem, all without exception were very obedient and great dogs.

I have an 8 yr. old female red/white welsh corgi. From day one when I picked her out of the litter she has been bossy towards my youngest child as well as any animals we have had. She's very protective of me and is my best friend. I'll have to agree these can be very dominant dogs. I've heard it from our vet as well as her groomer.

It all depends on the dog. My corgi is actually pretty submissive.

aussi was right! You should exert dominance over your dog, and if this is not going smoothly, you should get a dog trainer to come over and help!
