Because this is a free country and they have the right to speak any language they want, you racist, xenophobic idiot! Does it harm you in any way if they do not speak English? If not, then why do you care? I guess you just can't stand being reminded that foreign langauges exist, because you're such a xenophobe. And as for their "funny sounding language", I believe you are talking about Spanish. And to top it all off, you criticize people for not being able to speak English, but you can't speak it so well yourself! There is a difference between "there" and "their". Please learn correct spelling beofre you post any more questions on here.

Well, I am Mexican...and even I noticed your misspelling: it is THEIR, not there....
Also, in case you also spell: grammer, the correct way is: GRAMMAR....
As per the Mexicans speaking funny....do you mean the Spanish language or the Mexican accent when they TRY to speak English...if it is the second case, well, that happens when you speak a second language....

most LEGAL immigrants do speak some English. its the illegals who don't most coming from Mexico, central and south America . before I get called a Racist I should explain that I AM Hispanic. I can tell you that no matter what language you speak if I cant communicate with you I wouldn't hire you for a job nor would I rent an apartment or house to you in fact I would hesitate to conduct anything but the most basic of business transactions with you. and that's not racism that's pragmatism. as for that being what our ancestors did. its true we are all children of immigrants who brought our own language. but we conquered a land and historically the victor makes the rules. does that make it right? probably not but whats done is done and cant be undone.

The problem is the Mexican government. Since it is extremely corrupt and poorly run, lots of people come over here looking for jobs and that's ok. Most immigrants also try to learn English and their kids can usually speak English. However, those that come here illegally, demand benefits, and don't want to learn English should be punished, preferably by deportation

They don't. Studies show that immigrants today are English speakers in 2 generations as opposed to the 3 generations it took at the turn of the century.

Spanish is not a funny sounding language. But English is the language of the US, and what annoys me is that they don't bother to learn it.

FIRST: it is THEIR you meant, not there (sooo sad)
SECOND: they don't.. most of them speak english
THIRD: Every american here in Mexico (but aslo in France, Italy, etc) speaks in english because their oh-so-very-narrow-minded head isnt enough to learn more than one language (again, that's too sad)
