I want to get wings tattooed on my back (that go all the way from my shoulder blades to my waist).
I'm wondering how long something that big will take total and how many days will it most likely be spaced out over.

it really depends on a lot of things. first how fast of a tattooer your artist is, some are really fast and others are sooooo slow. next is how long you are able to sit for at a time. i can sit for 3 to 3 1/2 hours with no problem but more than that is too much. after each session you have to wait until the tattoo work that was done has healed which is 2 weeks. and a factor that came into play with my back was money, you have to be able to afford it and i definitely couldn't have afforded to get my tattoo all at once or even in 2 week incriments. it ended up taking about 20 months start to finish, my artist moved and it was harder for us to get together to work on it.

good luck!!!

It's hard to say without looking at it... really depends on the detail, amount of color blending, size of your back, how well you take ink, and so forth. I would say from your description, at least four sittings. The actual time involved is variable, as different artists work at different speeds. I'm doing good to get out five good pieces a day, but my man Chris gets out ten to twelve. Amazing to watch him work. Anyway, you sound like about eight to ten hours to me, minimum. The sittings should be at least two to two and a half weeks apart. Good luck!
