I have a Panasonic PT-AX100U projector which is not under warranty. Im having an Iris unit issue as of most owners of this projector. To aviod them charging me a crap load i want to buy the iris unit online (which i can from panasonic) and install my self. Does any one know how to do this? any feed back is better then none...

Labor isn't cheap on things like projectors. The technicians are typically paid well. It's like the plummer in a way. They don't get paid much for turning the nut that stops the leak. They get paid for knowing which nut to turn.

Still, if you want to do it yourself, spend some smart money first and buy the service manual for your model. That will tell you if you need any special equipment for timing settings, voltage trimming, etc. Plus it will give you a better idea if you really want to tackle this job.
