The above addresses are correct, but I tend to agree with the first guy, it is a shame that you want money for saving someones life.
But yes they do pay.

I live in Texas and have been a regular donor for years and have never been paid for it...I also donate platelets for Chemo patients...Sorry, I didn't think they did that anymore.(pay for donations)
