Doesn't anyone look things up in the bible before they come in to pontificate about a question? I've seen so many cases tonight of people assuming they know what Jesus said when they actually haven't looked up an answer which is demonstrably different from their assertions.

If you don't have specific knowledge, look it up! You can't just make stuff up, or parrot things someone else made up. Get a free bible program and do a search, or do an internet search for the verses in question.

Why don't you do that?

A lot of people on here tend to parrot things that others have told them. Pastors, Parents, Spouses, Friends are all common sources for peoples "knowledge". Some are too lazy to research anything themselves so they just take what others say to be fact.

sometimes Christians do make mistakes- however a lot of Christians on here really do quote Jesus correctly- by the way when someone complains about answers that are wrong- they need to show us where we are wrong, so maybe we can improve- oh that is you. Whenever I quote Jesus, I can tell you the Bible says He said it. Please give an example.

I certainly go to the bible when I answer a question pertaining to my faith to be accurate. I haven't answered anything yet without making sure first by cross referencing the bible to insure my accuracy.

Because by the time you've looked something up, 20 other people have already answered the question. You have to make stuff up if you want to be competitive around here.

protestants believe that when they read the bible the correct way is to ask for divine guidance and ignore the words.

it is only one small step from here to ignoring the bible altogether.

Sometimes there are misinformed, well meaning people out there.
Most I believe are probably well intentioned though.
You make a very valid point.

Why ?
Does anybody take R&S seriously anyway ?
Are not most questions asked in a way to say I know better than you ?
So why waste time and effort on those who don't really want to hear your answer unless you agree with them ?

Could be that not all the answers come from the bible?

I know, I have seen that happen. Don't they realize that it makes them look even dumber than they already do?
