Hi, I have a question about running.

Whenever I run the mile at my middle school (which is weekly), afterwords I feel really sick and like I'm about to faint. This has never happened to me before this school year.

I run the mile in about 9 minutes, I eat breakfast beforehand, and I drink water. When I saw my doctor she said I was working myself to hard (I run the entire thing) but I dont think that's it.

What could it be?

Don't eat anything for 2-3 hours before you run. Have a good warm-up before hand to get your breathing and heart rate aclimated. Good stretching helps me also. Create a breathing pattern for yourself. I usually breath out on every other left foot. Don't go out to hard at the beginning, once your breathing and heart rate settle a little, start turning it on.

Sounds like you aren't used to running that far. Try doing it at other times during the week, and go a longer distance. You'll build up your stamina.

I doubt you have any health problems. A mile is a tough distance, because you have to run hard ... and then kick to the finish. Not much time to relax in there.

well did you do anythin in the summer, if you did nothing that could have made you lose some endurance also do you get 8 eight oz glasses of water? maybe you are dehydrated. Also do you have asthma? that would explain alot!

ur body isn't used to running the mile that often. runners run every day, so we don't get as tired from that. so if u run more often the mile won't be so hard...if u get where i'm coming from...
