I am a freshman (14) and my boyfriend of one month is a junior (17). Some people at my school don't approve, but my mom does. Am I too young to be with him?

I think it depends on what you both want out of the relationship.
From an outsider's point of view Id have to assume the 17 year old is wanting a sexual relationship and personally I think that at 14 you are too young to have that sort of relationship. If he is a gentleman and knows where you are in your life and doesnt pressure you to do ANYTHING you are uncomfortable with then Id say its probably ok.
Listen to your heart though, if you have doubts then think about it. Just dont let him pressure you into anything. Good luck :-)

lol i remember the first day of freshman year, it was before i had to leave and my mom said something like "oh and new rule. you cant go out with any seniors. freshman i understand the guys are all immature, sophmore is good, and juniors are ok if i approve of him." well it was a little more than that but i summed it up haha. i think that if your mom says its fine its fine. that hard part is over. if you like him dont worry about what a few random people think. look at it this way- if things really work for you guys, when your older three years wont seem like any difference at all. The one thing i leanred from high school was that its pretty stupid to let a few people get in the way of what you want to do. if you like him stay with him! =)

If the people at your school don't approve and they are students, they might be jealous. Don't worry about them. Just worry about whether you guys are happy or not. And having your mom approve is a real treat. Some moms might not.

I may be classified as old school but yes you are. He is close to being an adult, maturely and emotionally dating him is not what you should be about at this time. There is just too much learning that you need to help prepare yourself for your adulthood.
Please re-consider your objectives.

A little, because he could get in trouble with the police since he could be charged for rape, but if it's ok with your mom, go for it!
