I know what global warming is and all that but I don't know much about what is being done about it, especially in the U.S. Is our government actually concerned about it. Is Bush concerned about it? What plans are being made to help stop global warming? It just seems to me like nothing much is being done on a wide scale. I'm only 15 and it upsets me because I don't want all these problems created by the generations before mine to ruin our planet. Do not enough people understand what will happen if we continue this way or do they just not care because they will be dead before it will affect them.

The founder of the weather channel, John Coleman, recently said man-made global warming is a big hoax. Whether or not he's right, I don't know.
Assuming he's wrong and the manmade global warming theory is correct, I doubt we will be able to stop it. Even if we reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, China is polluting like there's no tomorrow. They are building new power plants all the time and powering many of them with coal, which put CO2 (among other pollutants) into the atmosphere.
Do you're own research before you get too alarmed. And don't be afraid to question.

Yeah global warming, uh what do you want people to do about it? Be alarmist like Gore and scream that the sky is falling. Quote Polar bear population sizes for the only 2 places where they are hunted and say its killing the polar bears, when in only 2 populations is there a decline and it happens to be an overhunted area. Yeah global warming is real, is it at the level people are screaming I doubt it. Want to help dont drive or ride a bus, convince others to not drive or ride buses but to walk barefoot everywhere and of course naked. Making that stuff produces to big of a Carbon footprint, not as big as the Gore house makes but pretty big. Beyond that just stress out like they want you too.

Everything has to do with priorities and some like Bush worry more about how it will affect the economy now rather than what it is going to do to the economy later. You may notice that more states are doing more to fight global warming than our nation's capital is. There are some who deny global warming and so can do what they want without worrying but they don't realize the problems they are causing for those like you who will inherit the problems. There are some who are doing what they can to stop the problems including many scientists from around the world and I will give you a link so that you can see what many are doing to help.

i've learned a lot about this subject and only california has a law for less co2 emmissions! otherwise the US isnt doing much. but china sure isnt helping, there has been a lot of industrilization, causing a lot of pollution in the air and water, and they arent doing much either. there has been a major rise in temperature over the past 50 years even though it is hard for us to notice. Scientists thought that global warming was only going to be a problem in 20 years or so but they were wrong because it gets progressivliy worse, lets say we start at 1 on a scale of global warming and it goes to 2, 4, 8, 16, etc.

To be honest, America has not yet ratified the Kyoto Protocol (a treaty to reduce co2 emissions). Apparently, the government fears that America will be plunged into a period of depression if greenhouse gases are limited. Australia has not signed the Kyoto Protocol either.

I understand your fear, and I'm actually doing a persuasive paper to reduce global warming. I think that a lot of people are concerned, but they don't believe they can do anything as an individual. Hopefully, toward the future, countries around the world will agree to reduce greenhouse gases, or a lot of animals and poor countries will suffer.

As much as people may give bitter argument to the fact, it is true that the earth has gone through warming and cooling cycles for millenia. For Man to come along and presume that there are global implications to his mere existence on this huge planet, is nothing more than arrogance. The earth has survived for billions of years, and will survive for billions more. NOTHING you and I can do will change the climate for better or worse. Gore is a politician. Keep that in mind when you hear his views...

Mr. Bill, is that you?

I have included a kind of "umbrella" site first (13 agencies). But since you're 15, you might be interested in knowing what's being done at the university level, and you might even consider a career in a related field at one of these, or at another college or university of your choice. This decision would basically empower you in that you'll become part of the solution, and will work in the interim in reducing your ecological footprint, so you aren't a part of the problem, either.

Help is on the way. I think the calvary is coming, so hang in there, okay?

in case you prefer to obtain furnish funds for climate analyze, do you think of which you will get a cheque in case you say," i prefer the provision, as i think of that i will instruct that the figures that the present paradigm relies upon are incorrect" ? the super environmentalist, David Bellamy, has been silenced, and refused airtime. there remains no shown causative link between the quantity of Co2 interior the ambience, and an enhance in worldwide temperatures. The WWWF photos of the polar bears swimming have been taken interior the Arctic summer; while the ice cap in part melts, as they could no longer upward thrust as much as image interior the iciness. The ice become too thick! The East-Anglian uni analyze figures. "Oh! The figures do no longer tournament our expectancies. Oh properly. save quiet. because of the fact all of us be attentive to that we are precise." while the perception, and the religion is extra important than squarely dealing with the valid doubts of somewhat some non furnish-supported scientists, technology has been superceded by making use of non secular zealots. As Oliver Cromwell colourfully stated." I pray thee, interior the bowels of Christ, evaluate that thou mayest be incorrect."
