Did anyone else notice in the Sunday paper that all the sales adds did not mention anything about PS3? All of them...Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Toys R Us, even Kmart. These sales adds had Xbox 360, Wii, PS2 (surprising) and PSP, but not one of them even mentioned that the PS3 existed. What do you think this means? Is the PS3 dead? Are all retailers tired of promoting a system that is not selling? What is your opinion?

No it means they have ordered enough of those consoles to get the rebates from the manufacturer Example: if the retailer orders 1000 xbox 360's the retailer recieves them at a very reduced cost as long as the store heavily promotes the 360 and games which the retailer may or may not choose to pass the savings on to the customer ( Microsoft has been doing this promotion to retailers since last December) . THey will try to sell them at suggested retail price until it gets really close to Christmas then they will offer huge rebates or in store gift cards or extra controllers etc.... Also the stores sell extended 2 year warranties which they make alot of money on so the 360 will get pushed as much as possible because people are more apt to buy the extended for the that system (high failure rate) then the more reliable ps3. The Wii is for kids so people will buy the extended for that, and the ps2 is very affordable and easy to sell to grandma and grandpa who may not know the difference between buying the ps3 or ps2 for their grandchild.

Well, I see the new PS3 commercial every single day at least 3 times. I don't read newspapers, but I've seen a Walmart commercial just recently that was promoting the Playstation 3. Really, the newspaper isn't the best way to promote the PS3 and that's probably one reason you didn't see any PS3 ads. in the newspaper.

T.V. ads and internet ads are the best means to promote the PS3 because they reach a broader audience.

The PS3 is far from dead. The Sony consoles are some of the most popular consoles ever created, and the PS3's sales will pick up this holiday season, especially when the release of some big exclusives next year and with a good game selection as of now.
