Of course. Follow your heart, and keep your mind open to the truth. Don't be afraid to believe in your own ideas instead of others.

Only if they're not real.
But it's not really about whether it's okay to believe or not--beliefs and feelings don't have any influence on whether something does or doesn't exist. So does God exist? The only way you'll ever know is by searching with an open heart and an open mind. A great place to start is http://www.allaboutthejourney.org/.

Just a question out of curiosity here........More than 70% of the world does not beleive in Jesus, but does believe is some sort of deity. Now if that is the case, would more than 70% of the world be going to hell???? Hmmmm, makes you wonder.
I think believe in what you want to beleive in.....and avoid religious talks.
Also, on another rant, Christians constantly judge others and their beleifs...i am only talking about the crazed ones saying your going to hell, etc.....isn't that, technically, in itself a sin...."though shall not judge." So....i guess when your judgement condemns you, i will see ya in hell.

Jesus was either a madman, a great liar, or what He said He was. Read the Gospels which are a history of His public life. He does not fit the pattern of a madman. Is He a liar? Time after time He asked his enemies if they could convict Him of sin. Each time they became silent. He proved His divinity by His miracles, by His revelations of love, by the testimony of His Father at His baptism and other revealing events He plainly said "I am one with the Father".

By whose measure of OK?

Yours?...only you can decide that. By mine?...why would you care what a stranger thinks? By people that do believe?...the answer is obvious. By people that don't believe?...also an obvious answer.

The only answer that matters is God's answer. If he doesn't exist, then his answer doesn't exist either...that leaves the alternatives above. If he does exist, then, once again, the answer is obvious. If that nice police officer doesn't accept your excuse that you didn't believe there was a speed limit, why would God accept your excuse that you didn't believe he was real?

It is OK in this life because God has given Free will to humans and He does0n't force any one to accept Him.

But believers will know what will happen to them in next life.

I'm a Christian and i think that its not really okay but its not not okay, theres enough in the bible for me to understand and be enough scientific things in it (the world being round before Chris Columbus' generation; explains God hangs the world on nothing in open space and nothing holding it up; it explains that theres a water cycle [not in bepth but it hints at it a little bit]; it tells about the air blowwing to and frow going in a cycle as well) i was in Bible class the other day and my teacher showed us a slide show and it proved that humans had to exist with dinos it had a human foot print inside a dino footprint on a limestone water bed ill give you a link to check it out [ http://www.bible.ca ] Jesus died on the cross to forgive you of your sins why would he die on the cross the most painfull way possible just for a lie? When he was on the cross he was not killed he gave his life for us. The only reason the bible was writen 10-15 years after His crusifixion was beceause the deciples wanted to spread the word as fast as they could, they thought Jesus would come back sooner, why would the deciples write embarassing things about themselve in the Bible like betraying God and stuff like that why would they say that some women were the first ones to notice that Jesus was not in his tomb anymore and was resurected (back in that time in Jerusalem they didnt trust the women as much). email me if you want more information i would love for you to go to church some time

Yes, especially if you believe in other deities or you're an atheist. You can be Jewish and not believe in Jesus but believe in God, too.

Not only is it ok, but it is heartily encouraged. For the more God-less societies have less social problems and I would hope we all want to make this world a better one.
