The "experts" don't generally use the free ones, but the ones they do use like adobe photoshop often have a demo/trial version you can evaluate. I'd read up some too before you buy...like in pcphoto, they should have some good articles.

For me the best is Photoshop. With Photoshop you can do virtually anything with your pictures. It's expensive but worth it! I hear the Photoshop Elements is pretty good too and a lot less expensive......You can download either or Photoshop CS2 for a free trial.Also you can upload and edit your pics at Shutterfly, free and the editing software that you can download with it is actually pretty good!
