He tries to go around it every time i tell him to meet my family. He is really embarassed and thinks my family will be mean to him. My family is the coolest and nicest. I really want him to feel comfortable with them like i am with his family.

I don't feel like meeting a whole bunch of people who just want to see if I'm pretty enough, let alone stare at me like I am an alien or something either...

Maybe he thinks that if he meets your family, that the relationship is moving one step farther, and he doesn't want to make that commitment.
