The way it sticks it is as if the lock has seazed and will not let go of the door despite the fact the door is set to unlock. It is not a sticky seal.

This is fairly common on the Odyssey vans.

The most common cause of the doors sticking is that the rubber weatherstrips around the door become gummy from dirt, road oil and pollen and don't release when you go to open the door. The solution is to use a light coating of silicone spray to clean and lubricate the weatherstrips. Also, be sure to clean the mating surface on the sliding door where the weatherstrips seal againt the metal.

other than that, there are rollers for the door that do wear out and if you have a flat spot on the door roller it will cause the door to bind. those doors are a pain in the neck to adjust.

I think if you clean and lubricate the weatherstrips you'll solve your problem. make sure you lubricate the latch while you are there.

hope that helps

I actually have a sliding glass door Circ 1984 in that comparable configuration. Nightrider grants a valid clue in that the tracks with any luck span the great width. Mine happens to have CLIPS screwed into the precise and backside tracks holding the left element in place. On mine additionally the left one has no cope with/grip/lock mechanism, yet i prefer to think of it additionally slides. the difficulty, in my case a minimum of, could be that the nicely suited door won't turn and be accomdated in that reversal, as quickly as moved to the alternative element? an enticing concept to pursue in spite of the shown fact that. the attempt to be sure could be minimum.
