Several Christians have written what they think are refutations of TGD. They're uniformly pathetic.
They're known as 'Dawkins' Fleas'. Not a one actually deals with the issues, and they make use of every logical fallacy in existence.

I haven't finished reading it yet, I've got a million other projects going on right now, including but not limited to:
Learning Hebrew
Learning classical and Ecclesiastical Latin
Comparing and contrasting the Tanakh to the "Christian" Old Testament
Reading the Qur'an
Studying Egyptian mythology
Reading two books on Roman history
And there's lots more. I'm also trying to complete my study of Middle English, as well as renewing my interest in learning Koine Greek.
But from what I HAVE read of Dawkins' "God Delusion," it's very well-written. I'm compiling sources to write a book on the subject of theology and apologetics. I'm sure Richard Dawkins will make an appearance.
In the meantime, have you ever read "The Dawkins Delusion"? It might be worth a read. I haven't read it yet, though I do own it (as well as two Dawkins books, lol).

nicely, enable's say god is exterior all the guidelines of physics. Why do no longer issues like that still take place? i assume i'm only attempting to wrap my recommendations around the absurdities of many of the memories. i choose for to have the skill to communicate a number of the great questions, yet i can not do this until eventually we've some type of undemanding floor to artwork from. And if i can not persist with the coolest judgment from the initiating of the controversy, i'm lost for something of it too.

They have (or at least have tried). Look up "The Dawkins Delusion." BTW, I don't see why any atheists bother with specific refutations of the Bible. There's no proof for any of its most important claims. That's all the refutation I need.

I love this quote
If belief in God is so intellectually abhorrent, why would anyone want to retain the traditions associated with these beliefs? Why does Dawkins acknowledge that all this amounts to "a treasured heritage?" It must be because, in the end, even Richard Dawkins is not as much of an atheist as he believes himself to be. If Dawkins is so certain that theism is dead, why would he devote so much of his time and energy to opposing it? A man who is genuinely certain that Christianity is passing away would feel no need to write a 400-page book in order to urge its passing.

I would be happy to tackle them when I get done with college. I'm too busy studying to be a science teacher right now to read that book, but I have heard of it before and hope to read it one day.
Incidentally, why are there so many so quick to put Christians down as illogical and unscientific when this assertion is itself unfounded and unscientific? Granted there will always be some Christians that are this way, simply because God accepts people of all intellects and abilities, while science is by nature more discriminating. That doesn't make Christianity less logical, it makes it more accepting.

I wouldn't read his book because I don't think much of the man.I saw him in an interview with Bill O'Reilly where he stated "it won't be long before science finds evidence that God doesn't exist"; O'Reilly said to him "well come back here when they do and we'll talk about it". Christians have been saying the reverse for centuries.
What a jerk! Atheists enjoy his Kool-aid.
Ronboy above me is a marvel. Well said!

Atheists make specific refutations of the bible - but usually pretty damn petty. So, in the same spirit, the Dork says in his polemic that St Paul wrote the Epistle to the Hebrews. Error. Mistake. He is wrong. No serious biblical scholar thinks that.

I have not read this book but, I would be the guy to do it if I had.
Edit: Delow ...grow up
Edit: If it was writen by humans and it is based on the absolute latest and greatest information, it is only a matter of time before it is outdated. Further, it very likly makes scientific assumptions about our brains activity that not all scientiest will agree on today.
Edit: I have read Steven Pinker and Gerald Edelman
Both of these men have stated their purpose for their writtings is to complete Darwins work as it pertains to Human higher level Consciousness.

Whilst I myself am an atheist I believe that the biggest problem is the fact that Islam is indoctrinated into people. This leaves us, whether atheist or christian isolated in our own country. As long as we argue amongst ourselves we will be defeated.
