"Every Muslim shall be terrorist before Islam"
"If she doesn't wear a Hijab, we hit her"
Are these peaceful quotes?

The tile "Religion of peace" should go to Buddhism, the actual religion of peace, I'm a Christian and my religion certainly isn't peaceful, but at least it's not Islam

You make a wonderful point.

Personally, I dont see any Christians or Jewish people with Bombs on them....

Matt, why is half the Quran about infidels and revenge? Face it, its no where in the ball park about peace.

What I know is that Mohammad was a sheepherder who married a rich widow. He was free to proglomate his religious theories. His ideas come from the Roman Catholic Church. He eliminated the priestly hierarchy, thus eliminating the sacraments, and did not see Jesus as an incarnation of God. He said he was one of the most respected prophets. Muslims respect the Virgin Mary among other Catholic beliefs. The guy was smart. The Roman Empire was dissolving, and the outer regions of this Empire were controlled by local "barbarians" who had become Roman citizens. Without the strong Roman control, these guys controlled the outer regions. The poor were heavily taxed by Rome and the local "barbarians". They also had to pay a hugh sum to see a judge. Well, Mohammad, when he conquered an area, forgave the debt of the people, did not tax them and eliminated lawyers. They had free and direct access to the judge for justice. The conquered people did not have to belong to Islam, but if they did not, they then paid a tax. Roman Catholics continued their practices and paid taxes, and the population, who was basically "pagan" accepted Islam because it was so much like Roman Catholicism. What I understand, the Quran is a book of peace, but has been bastardized by sects' interpretations, just as the protestant reformation picked and chose from the Roman Catholic Church doctrine.

It annoys me. It is just said to be PC, but reality is different. Part of the problem is translation-The Koran isn't supposed to be translated according to Islam, so when it is, it sort of gets censored to make Islam less offensive. Thus American public figures don't realize they aren't reading the real Koran unless they read it in Arabic. At least that is what I understood from a former boyfriend of mine that was born in the Middle East.

I dont know where'd u get those quotes but certainly they're not from Islam... Islam teaches you to be friendly and helpful to other ppl and never hurt anyone there's a quote in Islam " Dont Do harm and Dont get Harmed" meaning that anything that doesnt harm yourself or anyone else you can do... and abt Hijab who hit women because they're not wearing hijab??? it's personal freedom a girl can wear whatever she wants Only Allah can Judge her....
and abt suicide bombers i'm not saying they're right but imagine that you get to this point of despair that you kill yourself... and by the way it's against Islam to kill yourself in anyway so Suicide bombers arent following Islam by wat they're doing...
Any Religion is a religon of peace specialy Islam
Peace be upon You

There's more to the problem than just a couple of quotes. Try all of the evidence presented by the practitioners of islam.

"my religion certainly isn't peaceful"?
"but at least it's not islam"

Hmm.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

Islam is supposed to be peaceful for and among Muslims but kuffars (non-Muslims) are fair game and their views do not warrant being listened to, if killed they are not considered innocent victims.

Even among themselves Muslims kill and maim each other, Sharia is barbaric and tyrannical, Sunni and Shia sects are at war with each other ...the extremist and fundamentalist Muslim's are out of control but they are nonetheless Muslim's, so it's untrue to say Islam is a religion of peace.

Muslim's are told in the Qur'an to deceive cheat and lie to non-Muslims. Overall it is a devious, sly and cruel religion, and as far as human rights are concerned it is a thoroughly rotten religion, Christianity is not far behind in it's inherent rottenness and like all theistic religions they anyway present a false explanation of the world and nature, one that oppresses and holds followers down and back.

There may be any number of nice peaceful individual Muslim's, I know it for a fact but as a force and en-masse Islam seems to engender violence, especially as it brushes up against the modern world expecting to be accommodated whilst making no concessions itself.

There will always be good and evil people but It takes religion to make good people do evil things, and for the others religion provides them with an excuse to do evil things in it's name.

I think only Muslim extremists take their 'wrong' believes to create terror. On the other hand, external factors also played a part in pushing them to the limit.

Muslims in South East Asia region are peaceful. They take life easy. The same Quran, different behavior.

May I quote from Buddha Vacana Verse 285:
"He abused me, he hit me,
He oppressed me, he robbed me."
Those who continue to hold such thoughts
Never still their hatred.

"He abused me, he hit me,
He oppressed me, he robbed me."
Those who do not continue to hold such thoughts
Soon still their hatred.

For in this world,
Hatred is never appeased by more hatred;
It is compassion that conquers hatred.
This is an eternal law."

As a Buddhist, let me say that the Muslims that I know have inspired me to be a better person. They are amazingly peaceful and tolerant people. Any Buddhist will tell you that peace is something that transcends religious labels. Labels are what create strife, hatred, and violence...

In the Intolerance Olympics, even if Islam gets the gold, the silver is nothing to gloat about.

Is your religion peaceful?

So does your peaceful religion teaches your people to occupy countries of people who did nothing to your country like Iraq?

Does your peaceful religion teaches your people to rap Iraqi women, murder women children and unarmed men, destroy their entire country except the Ministry of oil building. You must know what USA does with resources of Iraqi oil.

Does control of oil Ministry benefit you Americans with $3.35 a gallon oil prices in USA since majority elected your President - the best friend of Oil Companies.

It is not OK with Muslims and their religion. So they are fighting for their country and their religion, dying and getting in heaven. It is greatest honor for them to die rather than see what you do to them.

In your opinion Buddhism is peaceful because they kneel to occupiers, supply prostitutes to foreign soldiers and let them plunder their national honor. It must be great joy for you all occupying South Korea, Japan, and Philippine without any resistance.

Muslims are proud that they are not week ling Bud hists

No, it annoys me when people call Islam a religion of war. When you read the whole Koran, it is mostly peaceful, with a few violent passages.
