i do this alot too.
1.) I konw it doesn't sound great, but actually try to start earlier, so you have time to span it out, take some breaks, and take your time.
2.) If you have to come up with a self-reward system when you finish everything on time, thats good too.
3.) remember that it feels good to close the last book and really say "I'm done" and feel confident about your work.

It's the hardest thing in the world. For me, it's all about making time to do it because once I get started, I'll be at the computer for hours. I always lose track of time, so it's very easy not to do it. Lately my schedule has been everywhere since I'm not working, so I'm just doing what I can when I can and struggling for at least an hour a day. Try to do at least one hour every single, it's amazing how much you can get done in an hour. Even if you go back to edit and scrap most of it, there's usually something interesting there; something you can use later. Everyone has given terrific tips, find inspiration in other things, take breaks, carry a notebook around for when you get inspired, read, read, read. Read about writing. Read books in the genre you want to write in. When it comes to writing when you don't feel like it, I personally disagree because if I didn't set aside an hour every day whether I want to or not - I would never finish anything, but that's entirely up to you. Also join Nanowrimo. It's National Novel Writing Month and happens every November. It's an amazing exercise in motivation. Good luck!

Perhaps you might not feel as if you are rushing to get it all finished when you cannot be bothered [i remember the feeling well!] if you spread the home work you have out over a period of time rather than sitting with a huge pile to get through. Study in a relaxed place where you are able to chill as well as concentrate and finally i suggest giving yourself a little reward for after you have finished the piece of homework. It could be something small or simple but it will be in your head that if you get on and finish you can have that reward.
Good Luck

I know what you mean. It's so hard to start it when every school subject is so boring and it's the same damn thing every day.
You just got to start, then it's not terribly hard to finish (unless you have a ton of HW).
It's impossible to start right after school, so go ahead and do what you want then... the only way is to make sure you start it sometime before it gets too late and you want to go to bed...
I don't know of any fool proof way to fix your problem... just DO IT! If you can't start your homework, you are WEAK! Think like that, maybe it'll work.

I'm motivated by deadlines...I love the last minute rush, so I always keep things until the last minute.
What I do is create false deadlines for myself (a day early or "you can't do this until you've finished that"...that sort of thing).
It really works for me because I don't want to let myself down.

We can relate. Try managing your time. Prioritizing. Sometimes you need to just write out your daily list of things to do. Sometimes you have to take on that full load of semester hours so that you can be under pressure and JUST GET THINGS DONE! Trust me, im a procrastinator...it can kick your butt if you let it. Go to the gym..work out to get the blood flow going....read a book...hell...turn on some music!! Tap your foot while you're studying those notes or doing homework! it helps.

Homework is something you must do, so when you get out of school and get home,go to your room or study area immediately open a book and start. If you grab a snack or a drink take those with yo u. Don't dally. You are to do HOMEWORK!!

Even though you are behind, break big things into little steps. Instead of reading 4 chapters in a row, read one at a time. Take a break in between and treat yourself to something each time you finish a chapter.

I have the same problem and the only answer for ME is writing it down on a sticky note, then posting it up in your room. Put it on your lightswitch and when you wake up in the mornings to turn on ur light, you'll have to read the sticky note right? So yeah that helps me.
To get you to do it all it really takes is some confidence! watch less t.v. and put time in ur day to do it so that you have nothing else to do.

Set a goal, set a time schedule, and get through one day at a time. When is homework is assigned, do it as soon as you can. I was in the same boat you were, but thats what I did.
