Simply put, knowledge can be found between the covers of books. Wisdom on the other hand is a melding of knowledge and personal experience which with any luck continues until we are gone. Also, on a personal note, I believe that true wisdom would be the ability to pass on what you have learned in a positive and constructive manner to those who follow us and thereby help them to avoid making mistakes that we have.......; )

I would definitely say there is a difference. Wisdom does not always come with age. Knowledge is acquired information, over time we all acquire more knowledge. Wisdom is knowing or should I say having intuition that need not be taught. One cannot teach another wisdom it can develop over time. In truth there is no real link between wisdom and age, wisdom is often apparent from the very start regardless of age. Wisdom can come from revelations from The Gods or one's inner self or soul.

Surely there is a difference between knowledge and wisdom! A person can be wise without having any formal schooling whatsoever, while another person can achieve a PHD, having attended Harvard, yet exhibit no wisdom at all. The two are definitely not synonymous!

I know many people who have knowledge, but absolutely no wisdom. I know many people who have wisdom, but have not attained knowledge by the world's standards. Give me one person with wisdom over a stadium full of people with knowledge anytime. You really, I don't think, can learn wisdom very easily. The people I know that have it have an inner sense that guides them through things. You have to determine to become wise. Most people don't learn it simply because one the the first rules of gaining wisdom is keeping your mouth shut and your eyes open and having a mentor, whether they know it or not, that is wise and really studying them. Elisha gained wisdom from setting himself apart from the world and not leaving Elijah's side. He determined to gain wisdom, not just head knowledge, from Elijah. Most people, I have found, are too lazy to be that disciplined.

Knowledge is the quantity of information, just the facts. Wisdom is the insightful and discerning application of that knowledge in order to deal with every day life.

I am afraid I don't have a really good answer to your wonderful question. There is one thing I noticed and no one mentioned it. Everyone seemed to forget the fact that knowledge is sometimes temporary and the things we learn can be easily forgotten. Wisdom is holding onto that knowledge and competently using it for the greater good.

Both knowledge and wisdom are learned. The former is from basic information and the latter is from knowing how to avoid the failures of such information.
Peace be with you.

Knowledge is what you learn (booksmarts)
Wisdom is what you live (streetsmarts)
I guess I should have found a fancier way to say that but hey it's Monday and I just left work after having a week off.

Knowledge is a set of random facts that we learn, wisdom comes from the gaining of knowledge and the experience in using it.
