I get the impression that feminism and gun control sort of go hand in hand. Is this to try to prevent gun violence against women? Could pro second-amendment folks also be feminist? Perhaps if people had the right to concealed handguns, the number of rapes would decrease? I could kind of see it both ways.
Is gun control a feminist issue? Or are they two different ideologies that are often found in the same person?

I guess I'm thinking of the "Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban" championed by feminist groups:

I think they're totally separate issues...
They might be present in the same individuals - but just because someone is a "feminist" doesn't necessarily mean they'll be against guns. And vice versa... anti-gun doesn't necessarily mean pro-feminest.

No not necessarily. Gun control is an uninformed knee-jerk reaction. Of course so is feminism, but I don't think they are related.
Actually many states now have concealed carry licenses, I haven't seen any stats yet that indicate a decrease in rapes specifically, but there has been an overall decrease in crime. Of course much of the problem is that a lot women are afraid of guns, so many don't take advantage of the laws.

Quite simply - no. I am concerned with gun violence against people - not specifically women. And as a woman, I take great offense when an issue like this gets linked to women.

actually gun control is a constitutional issue. Personally I feel any American should be allowed to carry military grade weapons as long as they are not prohibited by law(e.g. conviction of a crime, mentally insane etc.) I do support a short waiting period to run the appropriate background checks on the first gun purchase but if someone already has a foid card then they should be allowed to instantly buy any weapon made.

I think some gun advocates like to try to play on women's fears and encourage them to carry guns but women need to realize that guns can be wrestled away from them and not all criminals will freeze when someone points a gun at them. They need to learn common sense and not wander into unfamilar or dangerous areas, especially at night. A gun is not going to protect them if they get jumped from behind.

Gun control is not necessarily a feminist issue, but it is an issue that affects many feminists.
I'm a gun owner, and support responsible ownership of guns for sport or recreational purposes.

Gun control is "everybody's" issue. There are people who are for it, against it, and those who haven't formulated an opinion on the subject, and those who just don't care. It's not an exclusively "feminist" issue. I'm sure there are feminists who have varying opinions on this issue.

No, but most feminists have one position or another on gun control. I'm in favour of it. I support ownership of hunting rifles, but not handguns or assault weapons.

Who cares what the feminist think. Their opinion mean little to me.
As for guns, I'm all for it, I strongly believe in the 2nd Amendment.

Gun control is a life issue. It doesn't matter who you are.
