If it's a brass band, they may sound a little out of place.

Most rock and pop bands use at least two guitars, or at least a guitar and a keyboard. One guitar traditionally plays rhythm, and that would be your acoustic guitar. The other one would play lead and your electric guitar will fill that niche nicely. Sometimes it is nice to play twin lead lines with the bass playing the foundation. Bands like Thin Lizzy and Nightwish have been doing that for years. The other thing that is crucial, is to play in different areas. If the rhythm guitar is playing nice fat open chords, the electric guitar is going to want to play up the neck and limit itself to two or three note chords as well as short runs. You are on the right track though. Best of luck not matter what you decide to do.

Ok, you will need to amplify the acoustic somehow, but you will get a nice sound contrast between the ringing acoustic and the electric playing tight chords interspersed with short runs and lead lines. The acoustic could also put in simole bass lines if you have no bass player.Hope this helps.

if its a rock band then yes. actually most rock bands have two to three guitarists some even have one electric guitar and one acoustic leading to a very full sound. also most bands have just one bass player... but there is a big difference between guitar and bass so im just assuming you are oly asking if two straight guitarists would sound good, not two bassists
