It's just like any other commandment.

ladysuri, i agree with what youre saying. but if you are gay, i think you should stay away from anybody of the same sex that you have feelings for. just like there is a gate for everything else. what you feel is what you feel, but if its wrong you should stay away from it.

We are all sinners and we have to answer for our own sins, religious people are no different when it comes to that type of sin!

Actually....it doesn't.
Read a little more carefully.
Vayikra 18:18-23
18. And you shall not take a woman with her sister [in marriage] as rivals, to uncover the nakedness of one upon the other, in her lifetime.
19. And to a woman during the uncleanness of her separation, you shall not come near to uncover her nakedness.
20. You shall not lie carnally with your neighbor's wife, to become defiled by her.
21. And you shall not give any of your offspring to pass through for Molech. And you shall not profane the Name of your God. I am the Lord.
22. You shall not lie down with a male, as with a woman: this is an abomination.
23. And with no animal shall you cohabit, to become defiled by it. And a woman shall not stand in front of an animal to cohabit with it; this is depravity.
This chapter is talking about SEXUAL immorality. There is NOTHING in Torah prohibiting the love between a man and a man. It says clearly in the Torah not to commit sodomy. It does not say that you cannot be in love with a member of the same sex.
But the Torah doesn't say it's wrong.

Because they're only halfway to being fully sensible people.
They still have to go the extra mile and shrug off ALL the other ridiculous commandments of the Old Testament.

Really? Show me a verse in the OT outside of the Sodom and Gomorrah story*, and then a Jesus quote about it.
*Ezekiel 16:46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.
