there aren't many opthions out there. they make otc ear wax removal kits that aren't to expensive and some people use wam water mixed with peroxide.the problem with doing it at home is sometimes, it gets clogged and can't be removed safely. if it's bad and you're having trouble hearing, i suggest seeing the doc. they'll use the water and peroxide but they can also pull out anything that gets stuck.

DON'T use Q Tips they can compact the wax. Use a dropper to put some olive oil in ear and leave for a while.
get a rubber Ear/Infant syringe from the pharmacy. Boil some water and allow it to cool to body temp. Add some soft soap to the water.

Fill syringe by squeezing out all the air and then sucking up the soapy water.
Hold head over a basin and gently introduce the syringe nozzle into the ear canal and squeeze the bulb hard. Repeat this a few times and you will be amazed at what comes out.

The perfect thing is new and over the counter!! It's called "ear-agate. If you can't find it in the drug store, just ask the pharmacist where it is.

The commercial shows how it works, and it's very gentle and effective. Good luck!!

you can find "ear candles" at heath food stores. it's a beeswax candle that you put in your ear, the candle acts as a gentle vacuum to get the wax out. don't worry either, it has directions and no wax gets in your hair or ears. i have used them for many years.
