Interesting, isn't it, how some people can claim to be "Christians", yet display some of the most un-Christian-like behavior?

You sure are angry. Don't lump all Christians into one group. I do forgive, it sets me free. I was abused as a child and I have forgiven all my abusers and I'm free from the harm they did to me. I became a Christian at age 18 and I've been forgiving for 37 years now.

Not that I think you will care, but I forgive you for misjudging me by assuming I'm unforgiving, arrogant and bigoted. I hope you can find a way to get past whatever is eating you up inside with anger and hate.

You must really be frustrated and hurt. I'm sorry for whatever has been so painful and frustrating for you. I've felt that way also sometimes. Hope it gets better soon!

My adult children and I are estranged. They are both Christians. I have tried, time and again to reconcile, especially with my daughter. She's smart enough to know that a failed relationship (me and her mother) involves 2 people, if it involved 2 people in the first place, but she refuses to reconcile and admit her mom was part of the problem too. I made a LOT of mistakes, but.......(believe me, I'm not so powerful as to wield power and influence over so many people. So why won't they admit their side/fault and forgive me?

We don't forgive people because it's not our place to do so ... we have no authority over you or anyone else.

We are not arrogant bigots, you've obviously had few "dealings with" Christians, or you'd know we don't hate gays, etc. Do YOU understand the story behind throwing the first stone, because that is exactly what your question is doing :)

I am Christian...I do not judge others...do I agree with the homosexual lifestyle, no but I also do not judge those that choose to practice it and I do not shun or alienate them either...and for the record not EVERY Christian is a judgemental, unforgiving bigot...some do actually demonstrate the love of Christ...

If Christ can forgive me for all the ways I wrong Him why can't I forgive my brother/sister? Answer is who am I to hold a grudge, Jesus didn't hold one against me...

so please don't make generalizations about Christians...we are not all the same...and not all that claim to be Christians REALLY follow Christ.

Who said that all christians are like that? Thats a stereotype.

I am a christian and don't hate gays etc. I don't hate anyone...there may be someone that I don't like but everyone has a person that they don't like.

Besides if someone is says that they are christian and they don't follow the bible are they really a christian? you tell me.

I hope this helps you in some way. ^ ^

I think that it is about the fallen nature of people. When people proclaim to be something, they ironically do not live up to the standards. I am Christian myself. I find it hard to forgive people sometimes, just like everyone else does. If I said that it was easy then I would be lying. I try though

I don't hate anyone, personally, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to tell the truth. I can only forgive those who have in some way harmed me & I do that consistently. "Treat others the way I want to be treated"? Yeah, I do that too. Not that I'm perfect or anything, far from it, but I do my best to be as Christlike as possible.

it depends on the christian that you are dealing with. some "christians" are jerks, bigots, morons etc, but there are also a lot of really good sincere people! just like out of christianity you have the "bad" people and the "good" people.

i am a forgiving person, but after being hurt you need to wise up so i may forgive but i don't forget. i DO NOT HATE anyone, but i know when to keep my distance from ppl who show themselves to be untrustworthy.

i live by that motto : do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

i kinda agree with you only because my sister "claims" to be christian! though i dont think "all" christian are the same! yet she thinks everyone is gay and liberal! i hate when she judges people cus i don't claim to know the bible inside and out and she does but i believe it says thou shall not judge! it is sad i feel bad for her cause she is going to have to answer to God one day for the way she lived her life and i wonder how is she going to get out of this one!
