Excerpt from the founder of the Weather Channel, John Coleman:
"...This is my field of life-long expertise. And I am telling you Global Warming is a non-event, a manufactured crisis and a total scam. I say this knowing you probably won’t believe a me, a mere TV weatherman, challenging a Nobel Prize, Academy Award and Emmy Award winning former Vice President of United States. So be it.
I have read dozens of scientific papers. I have talked with numerous scientists. I have studied. I have thought about it. I know I am correct. There is no run away climate change. The impact of humans on climate is not catastrophic. Our planet is not in peril. I am incensed by the incredible media glamour..."
His blog goes on about the influx of grant money this scam has created, making a lot of rich people.

Then they'll go back to saying we are in for the next Ice Age. That's what they were saying 50 years ago...we're all still thawing out from that one, huh?

You're at least the 10th person to ask about this in the Environment section alone.
John Coleman is a weatherman. He has never studied climate science. In fact, he's never written a scientific paper in his life.
Listening to Coleman about global warming is like going to a dentist to cure your cancer.
Even if Coleman did know what he was talking about, why would you trust him when virtually every expert in the field is telling us that humans are the primary cause of the current warming? Do you also believe the people who say that Bush was behind the 9/11 attacks, the moon landing was staged, and there are aliens at Area 51? Because his conspiracy theory is no better than theirs. In fact I would say that the conspiracy theory that Bush was behind the 9/11 attacks has more evidence than Coleman's conspiracy theory that global warming is all a giant scam.

It won't even take 15 years. In a couple of years from now, people will be talking about the end of the Earth as the Mayan Calendar, Nostradamus, and the Bible all have references as 2012 being the date for the end of the world.
This new panic and the movies that will sure to come out will have people forgetting all about a little warming.
Believers will resort to extreme measures just to get some attention.

Give me a break. The guy isn't a scientist, much less a climatologist. He has no evidence. He's just doing some political ranting. "Dastardly"? "Whackos"?
Why would anybody intelligent believe him instead of thousands of Ph.D. scientists, backed by a massive database?
He seems to be a conservative. Maybe he should listen to Newt:
"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"

if you still deny that global warming is real then I'm surprised you know how to use a computer. John Coleman is a dumb @ss weatherman that should take a better look at his own weather reports. global warming is a proven scientific phenomenon that is caused by carbon particles that we put into the air. Oh, and if your a little confused, Corbin comes out your car when the gas is all used up.

The idea that climate scientists are getting rich from studying climate change is laughably absurd. I think it's safe to say that Mr. Coleman hasn't the foggiest idea what he's talking about.

He has read papers? He has talked to numerous scientists? He is a weather man and they can't predict weather yet he has this unqualified opinion on global warming.
I would respect him not appreciating the science used because I don't agree with it either....but to take it further that it is a scam, he doesn't have the science to qualify that statement.
He is a meteorologist.....looks like snow today but then again, maybe not

actually virtually all scientist(the competent ones) agree that the world is warming, however many disagree over whether or not humans are responsible. even if it were suddenly reversed, the conservation efforts that are good for stopping global warming are good for the world as a whole.

Climate change science is complicated. Complicated things are difficult. Nobody likes difficult things. People look for easy things.
It is easier to listen to someone speaking than going out and finding out yourself.
Dana is correct. Meteorologists know nothing about climate change, just like a mechanic knows nothing about designing car engines.
Do not trust someone who thinks they are right just because they've 'thought about it'.
