Just another way of cutting the flesh. So yes. It is wrong. Of course the ILLEGALISTS will cry that is legalism, but which would you rather be, an illegalist or legalist, IF you were wishing to be submisive to Yahweh?
WHAT is the motivation in the heart for ear piercings? GET SOMEONE TO LOOK AT YOU? DRAW ATTENTION TO YOURSELF? The motive in the heart would be foriegn to the TRUE Faith once delivered ot the saints. It should be repented of and move on.

No. Making yourself look better is not a sin, unless you use it to tempt someone. Like if you got a piercing in a *certain* place, it would be a sin, because it could be used to break a commandment. But otherwise no. It's fine don't worry. I'm a faithful Baptist and I have my ears pierced. I'm considering a tattoo too. And they (tattoos) are not sins either for the very same reason. Good Luck, and if anyone says yes, I'll down vote them. :D ~MarciQ (P.S. Do what you want. Just follow the law)

I'm a Christian and I have a tattoo and my ears pierced. It does say in the bible that you shouldn't do this but I have personally never seen it. The Lord is not going to judge you by how many piercings or tattoos you got here on earth.

Question: "What does the Bible say about tattoos / body piercings?"
Answer: The Old Testament law commanded the Israelites, “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD” (Leviticus 19:28). So, even though believers today are not under the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15), the fact that there was a command against tattoos should cause us to question. The New Testament does not say anything about whether a believer should or should not get a tattoo.
In relation to tattoos and body piercings, a good test is to determine whether we can honestly, in good conscience, ask God to bless and use the particular activity for His own good purposes. "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31). The Bible does not command against tattoos or body piercings, but it also does not give us any reason to believe God would have us get tattoos or body piercings.
Another issue to consider is modesty. The Bible instructs us to dress modestly (1 Timothy 2:9). One aspect of dressing modestly is making sure everything that should be covered by clothing is adequately covered. However, the essential meaning of modesty is not drawing attention to yourself. People who dress modestly dress in such a way that they do not draw attention to themselves. Tattoos and body piercings most definitely draw attention. In this sense, tattoos and body piercings are not modest.
An important Scriptural principle on issues that the Bible does not specifically address is that if there is room for doubt as to whether it pleases God, then it is best to not engage in that activity. "For whatsoever is not of faith is sin" (Romans 14:23). We need to remember that our bodies, as well as our souls, have been redeemed and belong to God. Although 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 does not directly apply to tattoos or body piercings, it does give us a principle, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." This great truth should have a real bearing on what we do and where we go with our bodies. If our bodies belong to God, we should make sure we have His clear "permission" before we "mark it up" with tattoos or body piercings.

this is a difficult question to answer. yes i am a Christian but i have my ears pierced. i have my ears pierced. i going to hell for it? nope. slaves in Christ's time would have their one ear pierced to symbolized that they are slaves.
the sticky situation is that the body is considered a temple. stating that, there are some Christians say that piercings and tattoos are a sin. it truly depends on personal conviction. for example: i am 24 and of legal drinking age. i drink alcohol from time to time. drinking is okay for me. let's just say that you are the same age as me. you've had several drinks and you personally feel that drinking is not okay for me. what is okay for you may not be okay for me and the opposite way. is drinking a sin? no......its a personal preference

I'm a christian and as far as I know, it's not a sin for tattoos or piercings. Some people may not agree with it, but I think whoever told you that bit about tattoos either has their information a little mixed up or is just spouting their personal opinion.

If you accept the idea that your body is a temple, as well as a gift from God, and it should be respected then you have to decide for yourself what would "desecrate" that temple. Religion is a deeply personal thing. What do you believe is right for you? Any structured religion is going to give you basic guidance but you have to make those personal decisions on your own.
The religion I follow does address this, and encourages that any piercing for women beyond one hole in each earlobe is excessive and should be avoided. Is it sinful? No. It's just not respectful of your body--that's the teaching. To that end, male piercings are inappropriate and are discouraged. The earring is meant to be an adornment, an accessory, not a personal or political statement.

Do what you like. If someone has to tell you it's a sin, then they are simply imposing their views on you. Personally, I'm a Christian and i believe that your body is a temple that houses the Holy Spirit, would I desocrate the temple that God dwells in? No. But that's me. For you, you have to make that decision and it should be personal.
BTW... Piercing is no problem. Tatoo? It all depends on the content of the tatoo.

No, I don't believe it's a sin to get a piercing or tattoo. God might wonder why you're altering His work of art though.
