They club baby seals to death... pretty barbaric. They don't like to use guns because it damages the fur.
The US doesn't even allow for seal products to be imported
into our country.
Also, they are always talking about how different they are, when, with the exception of Quebec, they aren't really that different at all. A foreigner would not be able to tell the difference between a Canadian and an American. They are like the 51st state.
Hehe, I'm only joking, kinda....
They have Whistler and Vancouver BC, so they can't be all that bad.

Some Canadians do stereotype Americans that way, but not all do, and there are many other countries that view the US negatively for allowed guns (ie, the UK).
Some common Canadian stereotypes include that everyone lives in an igloo, is exceptionally polite, that all mounties wear red, that every Canadian loves hockey and drinks tons of beer, and that they all say "Eh?" constantly.
I personally love Canada and may very well become a Canadian citizen when I get out of college, so I don't have these stereotypes about Canadians. I tend to think of the Canadians as a more sensible, less corrupt, and generally less bellicose nation than the United States.

Uhh...I'm Canadian and I've never heard that one. Americans are much more stereotypical, they seem to think that the only good thing about our country is beer and that we spend our time rolling around on tractors or living in igloos. No one is better than anyone else.
For all of you Americans out there:
1) Canadians have a great military, but yes we are limited. We have a much smaller population so it doesn't take a genius to realize that our army can't be the same size as the American Army. Studies show that Canadian soldier are trained better than American soldiers.
2) We do have a huge multiculturalism crisis in case you haven't heard. But that's right, you guys tend to lose interest in any fact that has to do with another country. We have a huge crisis called "reasonable accommodation", and there's even a committee set up by the government to deal with it. Just because we don't hate specific groups of people as much and treat them badly doesn't mean that there isn't a problem.
3) Moose is NOT what most people usually have for dinner.
4) Settlers in the United States were just as barbaric as any settler in Canada towards the Natives. Actually, the French settlers (which were VERY prominent in Canada) have a much better reputation than the English. If you need any other clue, all I should have to say is "Colonel Custer". But thanks for having to resort to going back a few centuries to prove your (insignificant and onesided) point.

Canada has more guns in the country than the US, per person that is. It just seems like Americans do, because you do not yet have the problems we do with the new multiculturalism that the US has. Because of this, America has become much more violent. Wait until you have an infestation of gangs. Canadians think Americans are barbaric.
Plus, your food is weird. I don't eat Moose.

The people are okay. I have been to Canada several times, and outside of Montreal, I find the people no different than an average moderate to liberal American. In Montreal, if you do not speak French, they can be real jerks. I stopped in and asked for directions, and he said that he did not speak English, but when I grabbed him by the throat and scrotum he LEARNED English immediately.
Anyway, their socialist government is terrible, and complained about by about 2/3 of the citizens because of their incredibly high taxes. Military? They have a military? Oh, you mean those alcoholics in uniform who wait to show up to anything until after it is done? Okay, you know what I think of their military.
Mex C...so you want to get rid of protection from unlawful searches and seizures? WOW! What does this have to do with guns?
to love...live: You spelled that wrong. It is their health care system SUCKS. Their taxes are about 200% what ours is because of their "free" health care. Their lines are VERY long to get into lousy doctors. Their doctors are overworked and underpaid, so the good ones all come here to practice. You have no idea how bad their system is until you have been there and seen it "working" first hand.

Stereotypes are that they wear winter gear because it's always cold; they're obsessed with hockey, and have a perfect health care system. None of these are true, of course, at least not completely.
