Lev 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I [am] Yahweh.
YES, it is wrong, but can be repented of.
Many will claim we are not under the law, misunderstanding Pauls writings, or 'twisting them as they do also the other scripture, to their own destruction', but Paul plainly tells us the law of Yahweh is what determines 'sound doctrine' in 1 Tim.1:8-10. And Heb.9:15 plainly tells us Yahshua redeems us from our transgressions against the FIRST COVENANT, and yet many think this means we can CONTINUE to BREAK that covenant.

Of course a Christian can do just about anything. That may or may not mean its okay. It's not a sin to get a tattoo. There is nothing inherently wrong with a tattoo. Some Christians feel its a sin.
In the bible it does not and i will quote the verse.
Romans 18:14 - As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.

Where do tattoos come from and why did people have them for. Our bodies are a temple of God so why would someone want to do otherwise. Sure people like to be of this world so do what the world likes but Christians have a higher calling so need to look towards Jesus and not look down on to the world

I do not believe people should be judged based on their appearance. My dad has several tattoos, but is also a Christian. So no I do not believe it is a sin to have a tattoo. God knows what is in your heart no matter what you look like.

I believe that it is, nor do I want one.
Leviticus 19:28 (HCSB, Holman Christian Standard Bible)
You are not to make gashes on your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves; I am the LORD.
To Duh 2: If we are still under the law as you are saying, please explain Galatians 3:1-9?
Galatians 3:1-9 (HCSB, Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Justification through Faith
1 You foolish Galatians! Who has hypnotized you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was vividly portrayed as crucified? 2 I only want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now going to be made complete by the flesh? 4 Did you suffer so much for nothing—if in fact it was for nothing? 5 So then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law or by hearing with faith?
6 Just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness, 7 so understand that those who have faith are Abraham's sons. 8 Now the Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith and foretold the good news to Abraham, saying, All the nations will be blessed in you. 9 So those who have faith are blessed with Abraham, who had faith.

I don't think it is one of the worst sins out there but your body is the temple of the Lord...He says do not mark or pierce your body....If he says not to and you do it, you are sinning...sorry.
I have a tattoo....I regret it, but I got all my piercings and my tattoo before I was saved

my teacher explained this well, but im not sure i can do it too great. anyways, tatoos are normally to draw attention to ourselves, but being a Christian we are supposed to be all about God. but its all about the heart attitude. it is not something i personally would want (a tattoo) but i dont judge people for getting them. my grandpa had 2 tattoos.
