I have had my jaw locked up for about 6 months, they put me on muscle relaxers to try and relax everything and have it go back in place, that didnt work so i got a mouthguard, its been several months now and that hasnt worked, I am wondering what the next step may be. i have been living on ibprofen now forever and the pain just gets worse. We are m in between states right now (moving) so i cant get to the dentist for a few months....just wondering if anyone knows what i can expect next

STACY,

SAD, BUT TRUE THE TYPICAL MOUTH GUARD YOUR DENTIST MADE FOR YOU IS SIMPLY NOT WORKING.
WHY NOT?
A COMMON MOUTH GUARD IS NOT MADE TO STOP BRUXISM, aka grinding at night.
SO, IS THERE SOMETHING YOU CAN EFFECTIVELY WEAR AT NIGHT TO STOP YOUR GRINDING?
YES.
THIS IS THE N.T.I. BRUXISM APPLIANCE. SEE THE LINKS BELOW.
