Is this encouraged or discouraged by the Catholic Church?
Does this ever happen?
Do they both become the same Rite, or would they each keep their same rite?

Just Curious

There is no conflict in theory since both are Catholic and believe the teachings of the Church.

The difference lies merely in the manner of worship. The Western Mass differs from the Eastern liturgy. The couple would be encouraged before marriage to decide which rite they would attend. When children are born, the couple would need to have a plan in place.

Yes.

Both Latin Rite (Western or Roman) Catholics and Eastern Rite Catholics are fully in communion with the Pope.

Catholics can marry anyone:
+ Other Catholics from the same rite
+ Other Catholics from a different rite
+ Non-Catholic Christians
+ Non-Christians

They may keep their own rite or join that of their spouse, whatever they like.

With love in Christ.

The Catholic Church has no problem with a member of an Eastern Church marrying a member of the Latin (Western) Church. Each may keep their church membership or either one may switch to the Rite of the other. If they remain in the Church of their baptism, the children follow the Rite of the father.

Eastern Orthodox and Orthodox churches in general are pretty much the same as Roman Catholic churches. I don't see why either would have to give up their religion unless they both agree to share on faith or something like that.

definite. the two Latin ceremony (Western or Roman) Catholics and eastern ceremony Catholics are completely in communion with the Pope. Catholics can marry every person: + different Catholics from a similar ceremony + different Catholics from a different ceremony + Non-Catholic Christians + Non-Christians they could save their own ceremony or connect that throughout the time of their significant other, notwithstanding they like. With love in Christ.

As salaamu 'alaikym, my friend.

They would both keep their respective rite unless one formally moved to the other as both recognize the other.

IN a somewhat humorous aside, would the hands of the preist get tangled up when they make the sign of the cross?

ma'a salaam.
