Great question!! And I've never seen it on here before. I was raised in the South and took etiquette classes (as did all girls in my school) and this was a big pet peeve for our teacher.

Women or girls should never cross their legs while sitting. The correct position for the legs is crossed at the ankle with the knees together.

It sounds a little old-fashioned, but so do many proper etiquette situations.

Hope I've helped.

No, but if you are wearing a skirt that is shorter than the knee you might unintentionally show more than you mean to show.

I think the rule these days is that you are supposed to sit with knees together and off to one side, but who really sits like that anyway?

Awww it really is sweet <3 i imagine elementary tactics to understand is to ask him. He sounds like he jokes lots, so possibly you should claim it kinda jokingly, and simplicity your way into it. Or no longer ask if he likes you, yet ask who he DOES like. Oh, and with the age large difference element, don't be too frightened about that... i'm 15, and my boyfriend is nineteen, there hasn't been a lot difficulty... except for questioning what's "proper" or no longer... or perhaps that couldn't a huge deal, we basically flow through my age. 2 years isn't a tremendous deal :) through ways, you're fairly... a lot of ladies must be jealous of you. ^^

In a formal setting, yes it is. You should keep your legs together or cross at the ankles, instead.
