If it is in an appropriate setting no, but, if I'm sitting at the stop light and the person four cars back is shouting into their phone with the stereo cranked so loud you can't even hear your own radio, then yes. If I'm sitting in my backyard and I can hear the stereo from the stop light four blocks away, yes. If, when in an apartment and the music from the neighbor's upstairs in their living room can be heard from your bedroom at 2 AM, then yes. At a bar, in your own house, in the middle of the day, when even little children aren't napping, or in your car with the windows rolled up so you aren't subjecting anyone else to your noise, then, yeah, it's fine.

If I can't hear it, I don't care. But that's not what the question is, now is it? If I'm at home, and I can hear my neighbor's music, it pisses me off! If I am walking through the parking lot at the mall (or anywhere else) with my 2 year old son, and someone comes through with their speakers blaring out something like, "Wanna bang that @$$ Baby", I think I have the right to call the cops on them! Even if it isn't vulgar, why do they think that everyone else in the world wants to hear what they are listening to? I don't care if they have a "killer system" or anything else for that matter. It's called being respectful. Not everyone wants to hear your music, so turn it down if you're around other people.

It depends on the environment, and what I'm doing. If I'm in a club or some entertainment setting, loud music is expected. If I'm at home and trying to chill, sleep or concentrate on something, then loud music from a neighbor is distracting. If the loud music is coming from a car next to you while driving down the street, then I'll speed up or slow down to get away from it if it's bothering me. If they are on the same station, then no worries!

Yes, the drug addict who lives above me is playing loud music right now. It annoys me the most because he is in his 40s yet plays hardcore music full blast and it's always the same bloody song on repeat. I feel like I live below a nightclub and it goes on all night long. He refuses to answer to door to the poilce so they can't do anything. My boyfriend tried to talk to him about it and he just said we were snobs because we own our home (his is rented and paid for by tax payers) and we should f**k off. Such a nice neighbour :-|

When you live in an apartment and you downstairs neighbor plays their music so loud that the floor often vibrates, everyday, it does get quite annoying, especially when I am trying to sleep.

It does when you are home and you want to have a relaxing peaceful evening after a long day at work.
Loud music just annoys you as your mind can't get the rest it needs to shut away and regenerate.

It is a bad habit especially if you share a close space with other people and of course if you are playing music that the other people dont like.

Yes. Especially If I am trying to listen to a song, and someone comes in listening to music really loud. It blocks out the music that I am trying to listen to. Or, if I am not listening to a song, it just blocks my concentration
