According to the Christians: yes. Otherwise their cult's history would not be written in blood.
With the fall of the Roman Empire, the librarian of Alexandria was pulled off her carriage and skinned alive. Literacy dropped. Even the Pope had to have the Bible read to him. In the first crusade, Christians killed tens of thousands of people they called "infidels". The Children's Crusade (1212) caused the deaths of nearly 50,000 children. Preachers sentenced to death and executed thousands during the Inquisition (1233-1834) for heresy and witchcraft. There were the Salem witch trials (1692) in America. The 17th Century Thirty Years War (Catholics v. protestants) wiped out tens of millions in Europe. In the Taiping Rebellion in China in the 1850's a Christian cult started a war that resulted in the slaughter of twenty million people. In the Holocaust six million Jews were murdered. Muslims and Christians in Bosnia reached a death toll of over 250,000.
See what I mean?

No. The Bible (NT) forbids Christians to war. Matthew 5:38-40 8, 2 Cor. 10:3-5, Rom. 12:19-21 and the OT prophecies that the real faith of the final days is one which will learn war not greater. Micah 4:a million-5. Debbie

Christianity has traditionally accepted the fact there is such a thing as a just war if it satisfies the requirements. That is not the same as "justifying" war.
Islam does accept that war can be just and necessary as does Judaism.

People use religion to justify war as well as racism and other evils. If religion was truly good, you couldn't justify such evils using religion. If religion was truly evil, you couldn't justify donating money and time to the poor.
You can justify whatever you want using religion, and I don't think that's a good thing. If people want to do something (anything from war to helping the poor) they can say they are doing it for their religion. I'm all for helping the poor, but would people still help support Katrina victims or cancer research if they didn't believe in God? Of course they would. Would people still kill people in the name of God if they weren't religious? I don't think so. (Obviously, killing would still happen, but I think it would be significantly less)
I suppose you could argue that fewer people would help the poor if there was no religion, also, but do you really want people who wouldn't be a responsible human without God participating in your religion?
I guess I'm saying religion can justify anything, but humans have to want it to happen first. So there is always an underlying incentive to invading a country or region, even if you say you are doing it in the name of God.

No religious belief justifies war or any kind of hate! Jesus said to love your enemy.

In the Christian religion, no
David could not build the temple of God because of the blood that was on his hands. The people went to war because they refused to serve God to the obedience of their souls.
Jesus refuted this when he told Peter that "Anything that lives by the sword will die by it.
James put it that war comes only because the spirit of pride has overtaken man. If we are just in our obedience, we will be as Christ was, "not seeking to prove self"

No. But religion gives tremendous strength to fight for freedom to believe what a Muslim believes and worship and protect your land where you can freely practice his relgion. Religion teaches that fighting for your rights is a sacred duty of every Muslim and if he dies fighting in this duty his soul gets to go in heaven straight soon after it leaves the body and this is the highest goal of Muslim soul.

In peacetime, people say no.
If someone is invading your country, your position on the subject will change dramatically.
