Question:

Why is the satanic swastika symbol used as Buddha's symbol of spirituality? Wouldn't you think that He is one of Satan's incarnate because of his disbelief in God or gods?

Answer:

1st. The swastika is not satanic. To be satanic it must be a part of the Abrahamic faiths, which Buddhism is not. You should do more research on the swastika and find out what it really means; the nazis used the swastika because it is a very powerful symbol common to the Indo-European cultures, and the swastika is originally a Hindu symbol.

2nd. Shouldn’t anyone have the freedom to select their own symbol as a representation of their character? This is given as a clue for other people to know what the symbol-bearer is about.

3rd. According to the Abrahamic faiths satan is evil; Buddha was not. You would know this if you had researched a little more before judging him. Don't Christian scriptures state that judging is for Jehovah alone? Didn't Jesus warn that YOU will be judged by the same measure that You judge?

4th. Many people believe that there is only one Creator with many names, the same way that each language has different names for water, or mother, or father. Many people believe that the Creator sends us ascended masters, or people that have achieved the highest level of spiritual evolution, that love is all and hate is evil, back to continue to educate and help us find the path of the Light and to help us leave the path of darkness and ignorance, to instill in us an awareness of what is Really Right and what is Really Wrong. To help us realize that we need to be constantly aware of what we say and do, so that we can assess on which path we are.

Since when was a swastika satanic?

Hitler used a Hindu/Buddhist/Jainist symbol for well being and used it as the symbol for the Nazi party.

Since then what was a benign symbol has been associated with the terrible things that were done by the Third Reich.

The swastika is a perverted symbol, like a satantist's upside-down cross. The original symbol actually stands for universal harmony in Buddhism, with similar meanings in other cultures and religions.

And how can you not like Buddha?

The swastika was an ancient Hindu symbol of peace. The Nazis stole the symbol and reversed it for use on their flag. Now, people associate the swastika with Hitler, but in fact it originally represented altogether more peaceful ideas.

The Swastika is originally a Hindu symbol and it represents peace and blessing. This is why many pilots used it. Hitler later used it and twisted it a little and had it symbolize the Nazi Party of Germany. Hitler did this because he was very VERY interested in the religions of India. He even suggested mantra use and meditation.

the swastika is not satanic. it's nazi...pretty damn close though. It was Buddha's symbol before nazi's f****ed it over. Are you the same guy who asked about the hand gestures? GO read a frikkin book on Buddhism already before you ask all these stupid questions. You're just making yourself look like an idiot.

The swastika was a spiritual symbol LONG BEFORE Hitler turned it into what we now see it as.

Svasti is the sanskrit word for well-being, which is where the word swastika comes from.

It's not a satanic symbol, it never has been.

The swatika was originally a symbol for peace and good happenings until Hitler came along. Just as someone can take a negative word and give it a positive connotation, the same can be said with a negative symbol or word. Something positive can be manipulated into something negative. It's all semantics. How the words and symbols make you feel.

Why did the KKK use the cross? Why was the cross used to represent Christianity when it was used in Greek mythology for a while before then?
