My parents just bought an HDTV (not deliver yet), and I was wondering if my PS2 would need another cable to connect to the new TV or not?

For PS2? No. That's only for PS3.

The cables you already have (probably composite or s-video) will still connect to the new TV, but if you want higher quality video you will need component (also called YPbPr) cables.
