It seems to just come natural to some people, they can just do it without knowing how they're doing it or any of the theory involved. Me, I can sing a melody just fine but I struggle with harmony. Can it be learned, or is it just a natural talent you either have or you don't???

Yes, if you can sing and hear and replicate correct pitches, then it it simply a matter of some training to learn how to sing in harmony with others. I have two recommendations: 1st find a piano and make up a little five note song. Be sure that you can play it a few times and almost memorize it. Then, practice singing a third above those notes while you play the original tune. Just do it on "la" or "do". Got it? So, you are singing one set of pitches while you play another set a third lower. If you want to play both lines and practice each one, then do that too. This short exercise will be the beginning of your ear-training; you can expand on the pattern and intervals after you mater the one above.
2nd: join a choir and sing alto. Make sure that they put you next to a really strong reader and listen to and follow her. Singing alto for a few months will do wonders for your ability to sing in harmony and it will teach you how o read music which will be another great thing for you.

Best of luck!

It's very possible to learn to sing well. You just need to know the right methods. Learn here https://tinyurl.im/aH6aK Singing teachers will cost money and can be expensive so they're not for everyone. If you’re like most people who dream of becoming a world-class musician or just love to sing, your goal is simple: you want to overcome your vocal barriers. You want to take your singing ability to the highest level.

And you know that across the world, more and more people are taking their voice to that next level.

Superior Singing Method - http://superiorsingingmethods.info/324/Video-Tips.html

But why do some of these ‘lucky’ singers seem to have amazing ability, perfect control, pitch, agility, confidence, and a huge vocal range – while you might still be struggling to improve your singing voice and have a masterful singing voice?

This is what makes the difference between a world-class singer and an average singer…

It’s all about how you practice and train your voice. Most ‘vocal improvement’ systems and techniques just give you a set of vocal exercises with NO direction and leave you on your own to figure out how to actually sing.

But at Superior Singing Method, I train you with a form of active vocal improvement to spark your inner singing ability, improve every aspect of your singing voice – which means that you will start singing the way you always dreamed while gaining a masterful control over your voice…with amazing power and a range that will let you hit every note with ease and confidence.

You’ll do this through a set of time-tested and highly refined vocal exercises that come together to train every aspect of your singing voice: a voice where you can sing with amazing pitch, better agility, more power, improved resonance and tone, and impress anyone who hears you sing.

The Superior Singing Method is like having a personal vocal instructor showing you exactly how your voice works, and how to work with each muscle group in your voice to get the results you want.

When I work with singers, I find it easiest to start with rounds (like "Row, row, row your boat" or "Three blind mice"). This will help you get used to singing something different from someone else. The next step would be to sing in simple harmony (like 3rds or 5ths) with another part. If you have someone you can sing with, have them sing the harmony and you the melody, and then once you've grown comfortable with the melody, sing the harmony with them until you learn it. Then have them sing the melody while you continue with the harmony. It may help to cover one (but only one) of you ears while you sing. This will help you hear yourself and the other music at the same time to allow you to check back and forth.

take voice lessons. meanwhile- here are a few things that i do in prep to sing. breathing excersizes- pay attention to your breath as you draw it and release it. you shouldn't need to "make" your stomach hard, when you go to sing, your abdominal muscles (below your stomach) will automatically tighten. the key to supported singing is holding onto that tension. when you go to sing, make sure that your rib cage is expanded and as you sing, focus on keeping your rib cage elevated and expanded. don't let your chest fall. as you sing put your hand in front of your mouth. can you feel your breath on it? if you can, you are most likely letting too much air escape while you're singing. work on using as little breath possible to sing. use yoga or pilates to strengthen core muscles. for harmony-- find a website that will play you different chords in different inversions and then identify them. keep working at it til you get them all. this will help your ear (i'm still working on this one myself) secondly, learn the notes separately. i'm not that great at sight reading harmony, but if i learn it, i do fine. finally, play some of the chords on the piano yourself and sing along with the line you want to sing. slowly at first, then up to tempo. hope this helps

it isnt impossible but it can be harder for some to learn than others. It is all a matter of staying in your lane, singing your own part. for me i just drill the part im singing into my head so when i sing around the others singing melody it doesnt affect me.
