Yes you can use PS2 games for PS3. In some cases I was able to use a PS1 game in the PS3 console. Hope that helps :)

OK i think you can use any PlayStation games in any of the PlayStation consoles. I think Play stations are very adaptable. I play DVDs in my PS2 and i use PS1 games in my PS2 and besides, if you go to the video store there is only one section for PlayStation, not three. ( or at least that's how it is where i live.) So try it out. If it doesn't work its not like the PS3 is going to explode! Right? And by the way i'm just assuming that when you say pit a PS2 game into a PS3 that you mean put it in and turn on the system and have the game work so yah. HOPE THIS HELPS! :)

sure you can, but then why did you buy the PS3??? you coulda just kept the PS2 if youre worrying about playing old games. OHHHHHH, thats right, PS3 doesnt have any games.

Yes, if you have 20GB, 60GB or 80GB version. 40GB can't play PS2 games.
