Here is the official USS Donald Cook (DDG-75) website. Here you will find information on how to send letters to the ship and other information that may be important to you. I was unable to find any time when the ship would be returning to its homeport at the US Navy Station in Norfolk, Virginia. Their are people who you can contact through this web site that will help you answer all of your questions. Good luck and I hope that your loved one return soon and in the best of health. God Bless our all of our military forces.

P.S. There is a number I just found that you could call that will provide you with information regarding pier and berth location and other information.

Given the "Micky Mouse" response by the USA to the Russian invasion, the ship should have been "USS Donald Duck", not Donald Cook!

American gave Ukraine a security guarantee in the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, promising to come to Ukraine's assistance if it was attacked. The USA has done nothing to honour its legal commitment. Obama and Putin have together humiliated the USA.

It's called OPSEC. Having this type of information public can seriously endanger the lives of the the crew as well as the ship itself.

If you are in a position to know this information (ie. a spouse of someone on that ship), you will know when they are about 24 hours out. They do not post this information on the internet for OPSEC reasons.

if you are an authorized family member, the Ombudsman is the only point of contact for you. if you have a need to know, that information will be given when it is been authorized by the CO that it is safe to do so. Most likely it will be given out in person, not over the phone or in an email.
