I need help interpreting this quote from the Bible. Its from John 3:13:

"No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.[d] 14Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.."

According to the old testament Elijah was also carried up to Heaven. Ive been pondering over this quote for sometime, please help.

2 Kings 2
1And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

It specifically says Heaven.

lol-Cool.
Oh! Apparently, the same word supposedly means two different places. And they say we take things 'out of context'.

Jesus was carried up to heaven just by the power of the holy spirit. It is written that Elijah was taken to heaven in what the bible states as a " Chariot of fire ". Verse 14 refers to the time when Moses was leading the people and they kept dying of snake bites so god told moses to make a model of a snake and if anyone got bitten by a snake they were to lift up at the snake and then they wouldn't die. And in that way Christ must be lifted up (onto the cross) so that we may not die of/ in our sins.

Jesus was not lying.

Elijah does not die at this time, nor does he go into the invisible spirit realm, but he is transferred to another prophetic assignment. This is shown by the fact that Elisha does not hold any period of mourning for his master. A number of years after his ascension in the windstorm Elijah is still alive and active as a prophet, this time to the king of Judah. Because of the wicked course taken by King Jehoram of Judah, Elijah writes him a letter expressing Jehovah’s condemnation, which is fulfilled shortly thereafter.—2Ch 21:12-15

Good question. I might be wrong but before Jesus came to save us from our sins everyone was sent to Abraham's Bosom and Elijah was not in heaven at that time. Tells of what Jesus is going to do.

That's an assumption that he was taken up to heaven. He was taken up in a whirl wind. Just as Enoch walked with God and was not because God took him. Their bodies were taken from one spot on this earth to another. Don't assume.
