I have a purchased copy of Transmit that I use for FTPing. When I created a new user account on the Mac for my wife, I noticed that Transmit doesn't work while logged on as her. It asks me to purchase. I have to log off and log back on as me. How can I fix this?

The registration data was stored in your user Library. Sometimes when you install software, there will be an option to make it usable for "All users" or just for yourself. You can contact the developer of Transmit for a replacement serial number on their Web site, link below.

By the way, FTP is not something you have to buy. All Web hosting providers offer either an FTP utility or instructions for direct FTP so if you don't want to deal with Transmit, you don't have to. You can also FTP to most sites through a free Web-based FTP service such as www.01ftp.com. Lastly, the OS X system has FTP ability built in. Click on "Go" > "Connect to server". Then you have to type in the server IP address. To get access, either amend the IP address with ":user:password" or the site will follow your connection attempt with a login window.
