I only made about 10,000 in 2006. about 2,000 was from a W2, the rest is a 1099. I had a child in July and I'm a single parent. My totoal deductions is about $3,000. About how much do you think i'll get back for my refund? Thanks!

With standard deduction (HOH) and personal exemptions (2), your income is not taxable, but you still owe self-employment, and need to figure your EIC. 2747 is the EIC for 1 child in 2006 for 10k income. Self employment on 8k is 1130, the difference, generally would be your refund... $1617.00

your 06 returns were due 4-15-07. Can we correctly conclude the numbers you are giving us are for 07? If so you should get back all your Federal and State (if any)withholding and are probably eligible to get the Earned Income Credit, which is a NEGATIVE income tax, added to your Federal refund. If these numbers are REALLY FOR 2006, you will probably be in trouble for not filing and you are almost 7 months late. Contact the IRS and state tax agencies if you are that late with 2006 filings for special instructions.

2006 return was to be filed by April 15th, 2007. So are you talking about the 2007 return.
