Some Catholic bashing idiot told me that Catholics don't accept the Bible as God's Word and instead take the words of a handful of men (most who have been Italian) instead of the Word of God, which the Word of God clearly teaches was formed before the world.

Can someone give me advice to tell these Catholic-haters to spread their Chick-lies elsewhere?

I wasn't the person you're quoting, but whoever it was, was right. And here's more about it: Catholics are not saved and are not Christians. Catholics believe a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell (Galatians 1).

They dont have a clue what they are talking about---I mean look at them-- rather than taking the Bible, which they spout selections from every chance they get, they listen to some "man's words" as far as the relationship Catholics have with Jesus. Some lost, supposedly "pastor" has poisoned their minds on what Catholic believe and they run with it---go figure huh?

Sorry, your friend was correct!

As someone raised catholic, I must say they always put the traditions of men over the word of God. This one particularly blew my mind, as they BLATANTLY ignore Christs direct statement:

(Matthew 23:9-12) . . .Moreover, do not call anyone YOUR father on earth, for one is your Father, the heavenly One. 10 Neither be called ‘leaders,’ for your Leader is one, the Christ. 11 But the greatest one among you must be your minister. 12 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

Of course, don't get too worked up here, Christ was not talking about your DAD, he was speaking regards spiritual things, and in that sense, no man should be addressed as father... directly OPPOSITE of what the church teaches and the priests demand.

How do they come up with this stuff... Jesus speaking the the CLERGY of his day said:

(Matthew 15:6-9) . . .you have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about You, when he said, 8 ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines. . .

Yep, Catholics teach commands of men as doctrines, superseding the scriptures... your friend was a friend and pointed out the news to you... time to leave the church now, as I did.

And just what is "the Word of God?"

Here's a hint.....look in your Bible John 1:1-5.

Telling Catholics that they don't accept the Word is just so ridiculous, even when you say "word" = "Scripture."

I'm a Catholic. If we didn't place any importance whatsoever upon Scripture, then it wouldn't be read at every single Mass. However, we are not a "Sola Scriptura" church, like some of the Protestant denominations. The teachings and traditions of the Church also figure into the equation. But Scripture is definitely a part of the Catholic worship experience, and is read at services.

Is a variation it sounds like on the infallibility of the Pope. The pope speaks for god on earth and the Catholic church tells us the pope is infallible--so in a sense--the word of a man is given the same weight as the bible. Howeverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr--there is some fine print to this contract. According to Catholic lore, the pope is infallible when sitting in the throne of St. Peter. Elsewhere he is as fallible and mortal as the rest of us. Interesting things is--there are no papal decrees or enclylicals delivered from the throne of St. Peter-ego catholic doctrine as administred by the pope is fallible and subject to review. Clever bit of theological sleight of hand.

I. vulnerable version of the Jewish faith? Hmmm. countless them are diversifications, and all fake immitations of the reality are vulnerable,... yet of Judaism? in all probability no longer. II. way too many. it particularly is lots greater handy to disguise the reality in a sea of falsehood. Believing that God has no longer allowed his certainty to die (Matthew sixteen:18) or circulate wanting, devil (no longer guy) has propagated many fake religions to confound those finding for the reality. in easy terms with God's help can one even assume to discover his actual Church. in spite of the shown fact that, God has left the accountability of the seek as much as us as persons. you may do the leg-artwork of the seek for the reality -- and no count if that's God's will which you detect it, you will. Steps: a million) coach God exists; 2) coach the Bible is the be attentive to God; 3) persist with (do) what the Bible teaches. III. Who made Judaism? present day-day Judaism, nonetheless loosely based upon the be conscious and instructions of God, is lots greater like Catholicism in that it places greater weight in its "Traditions" than in the direct instructions of the Scriptures. In that experience, God did no longer create Judaism. in spite of the shown fact that, God has given mankind actual faith from the initiating. Adam and Eve rejected it; Noah and Abraham clung to it. And in the time of the Exodus, God restored it to Israel through Moses. So, in that experience, God is the author of actual faith. actual Christianity isn't an version of Judaism, yet a end result (success) of it. God did no longer provide the success of his plan of salvation to the Israelites; nonetheless, through God's spirit, some have been waiting to come back to that success (such as Moses, David, Aaron, and diverse others). it particularly is yet sooner or later for them. -~<=>~- -~<=>~- -~<=>~- -~<=>~- -~<=>~- -~<=>~- ( o _ 0 ) what's that meant to be and mean? .
