Alright, here is the problem. I bought a Sony Vaio Laptop online. The only reason I purchased it from sony was because they had the whole "No interest for a year" thing going on. Well, I made the purchase and after the bill came, I was slapped with the whole amount. I called my credit card company and they said "Yes", we will charge you interest if the whole sum is not paid. I found out that, that "No interest for a year" could only be applied if you applied for Sony's Credit Card. The funny thing is, Sony said NOTHING about that. The a little thing that said "No interest for a year" in red was the only thing there. No indication whatsoever about applying for the card. I DON'T want to pay interest! Is there anything I can do??

You could go back to the store or call the manager of that store and ask for a refund of the interest since they didn't have it marked clearly or tell you about the conditions. I have had good responces when I complain to the management about things like this. They have given me a refund most times at different places. Because a bad word of mouth takes fom their business!!!

If its not too late, return the laptop for a full refund. Its not really the credit card providers fault and theres not much they can do. Sony probably had a small print somewhere on their page which you might have missed. The other option is to apply for a credit card that has a 0% balance transfer offer and transfer all your credit card debts over to the new card. This website is doing pretty good 0% balance transfer offers http://www.officialfootballcreditcard.co.uk for up to 12 months

No interest for a year is always financing through that company, whatever it may be. What did you think they would pay the interest on your credit card? A little common sense here. Chalk it up to a lesson learned because there is not much you can do about it

How the hell did you not know that?

Return the item. Re-purchase it via Sony Visa credit card. If you cant return it, your stuck.
