This is a hard questions... unless the whole family wants to lose weight with u..
this is one reason it is so hard to lose, especially if if are the one preparing the meals..
as a rule u have to prepare 2 different meals.. even if it is the same thing...
fix a regular meal.. but U have to eat a mixed salad.. or just a potato, or 1/2 the portion..
eat raw fruits/veggies threw out the day. several times a day.. peel a potato and eat it raw, to keep from having hungry pains.. avoid salt..
u will feel like a rabbit .. eating all Ur veggies raw..
cooked veggies... try not to butter them.. unless u use the sprinkle on butter..
If u want to loose try the 3 B's.. baked, broiled, or boiled..
all meat.. eat small portions..
good luck

I love that Birdseye Thai vegetables with chicken breast.
It comes in a big bag in the vegatable section at Walmart. All you really have to do is dice up some chicken breast in about a tablespoon of olive oil, then pour about 1/2 a bag of the veggies over them in a large skillet and then a little sauce pak comes in it. You pour that over the top and cook for about 10 minutes and its very delicious over white or brown rice.

eat small portions and stick to protein and complex carbs. Stay away from breads and pastas except whole grain, and keep that to a minimum. It's the simple carbs that do you in: sweets, breads, candies. Stick with dark or bright colored fruits and vegetables; they break down more slowly in your body than do the light-colored ones, which will make you feel fuller and will keep your blood glucose levels more consistent so that your cravings are reduced.

chicken, fish, ect... the thing is portion(s), and number of times a day that you eat... many falsely believe that they can gain weight if they eat less often like twice a day... this does not work as the body sees this as starvation and will keep nearly all that you eat, more stored as fat, you need to eat small meals often,, 4-5 small meals... and do not go by the food pyramid thing... that was developed by the meat/milk industry

I recently bought these packages containing everything for chicken lettuce wraps. They're delicious and, if I remember correctly, only have 130 calories, and 1.5 grams of fat. They have them at Safeway in the fresh produce section, where they keep the tofu, bean sprouts, etc.

Chicken ( no skin), turkey, lowfat tuna, and lean beef are good substitues for protein. And have as much veggies, and fat free salad dressing as you like. And water!
