Jesus is not God. Christianity claims to be monotheistic but worships 3 different Gods claiming they are all one. That is like saying that you believe in mermaids ... impossible. Jesus never asked for prayer or worship - as a matter of fact he himself prayed in the Garden of Galilee ... who was he praying too? Himself? I think not.

Matthew 26:53- The sense of God being His Father puts Him in the Deity Family. For the time and mentallity of the preists at the time that was just as good. also see verse 64. In mark 11:8-11, He receives the Praises and worship of the people as King and Lord. see 14:61-63 for His confession.

He never turned away the Praise and the thanks of the one leper out of ten that got healed. All the people that He healed by the way gave the thanks and glorified GOD.

John 20:14-17- Jesus came on the scene because of Mary's worship and brokeness. That will always cause God to show up by the way-pure humility.

DID HE ask for it? No! People back then knew and realized. He did not HAVE to ask. It was freely given. I freely give my worship to Him. Do you wanna join in??

God Bless!

this question has probably been asked a thousand times.

yes. he did.

John 8:58- "before Abraham was I AM"

I AM refers to YAWEH, the burning bush told Moses "to tell them that I AM sent you"

the Jews knew that this was what Jesus was talking about because they tried to stone Him.

He later said "when two or three are gathered in my name, i am there" (matt 18:20)
"gathered in my name" seems to allude to prayer, would you agree?
