Pretty risky prospect, when you consider that, even, exposure to someone's common cold could be fatal to somene with no immune system. (remember the "bubble boy")

Finally, from your example, think about the, simple, mechanical aspects of using a rabbit's eye to replace a human one. It would be a good fit, in the, relatively, large human eye socket. Perhaps a pig's or a cow's eye would be a better fit.
