Very much so:
I remember my mother saying that if she went to a wedding in a protestant church where as she was Catholic she would go to hell. To this day she still has trauma's about it. I too had some troubles with it. That is why i stay away from church...the stuff they say in Sunday school....oh boy it's out of wack. I DO believe in God......but......I also believe he Hates religion as well. "god save me from your followers"...my favorite quote

Well, I've come to realize that no matter what you believe in, people always has a different look at it and doesn't even want to hear your opinion on things. Although some opinions doesn't make sense everyone should listen to them and respect it no matter what God they serve or Gods. Myself I am christian and believe in The farther, The Son, and The Holy Ghost, although I have nothing to prove that this exist but I have faith it does.
This is a big problem in schools if you mention God it's like *aw you sad a bad word*, and kids always make fun of your religious beliefs no matter if your Jew, Buddhist, Atheist, etc..
Also, when your dating I don't think the relationship should be grounded on religion. If two people 'really' like each other than they should respect each others religious 'opinions' and go on with there relationship. Although, at times I do feel like I'm dating the devil but that's besides the point.

You had a few questions in there so I will answer the first one. No it doesn't sadden me when religion interferes with my life. Just yesterday, I was working at a church retreat and was going to leave early so I could watch our football team play in our first home playoff game in 19 years. (And I am a season ticket holder) But during the afternoon, the priest was doing a talk and asked "What would you give up for God?" So I stayed. When it was over, I was home in time to watch the second half on tv. We won! I was not saddened by missing the first half at all. In fact, I felt very good that I had been able to give up something that was important to me for God. There will be more football games.
I have no problem being friends with people of other religions or denominations. I have friends who are mormon and muslim. I am Protestant. My brother is Catholic. As long as they don't try to interfere with me practicing my faith, I have no problem with them. I am willing to debate but not to convert. After all, we are all children of God.

You know, I don't think this is someone who you should be calling friend or calling incredible. When it comes to friend, the word incredible is reserved for someone who has been there for you ou entire life and who does not judge you on your beliefe on nothinig like that. A true friend would just pray for you to change, and would respect you if you don't. How would she feel if you didn't want to be friends with her because she is a catholic person? I hate when people do this, they call themselves religious yet they only follow parts of the bible that is convinient to them! I am sorry hun, but I cal it as I see it and this is NOT a friend!!!
Have a star my non-religious friend whom I respect very much, no matter what you believe in!
By the way, I am a religious person for all the thumbs down people that will complain and I do believe in God, but I also believe that part of believing in God is respecting and accepting one another!!!
Love and peace out!
O wait before I peace out, would you guys pretty please please please answer this? ;)
Pretty, pretty thanks!

I believe that religion and spirituality are at the opposite ends of a scale. To me, religion has nothing to do with being spiritual. Religion is a set of man made rules and regulations put into place to frighten people into thinking that God is judgemental, vengeful, and plays favorites. These are all human traits - God is not capable of these negativities. I know there are a lot of people who will not agree with me, and that's fine. We all have to find our own God-center, and this is mine.

Hey, Jedi. Don't judge. I'm a catholic girl, 12 years of school, Mom taught in the catholic schools for 30 years and I would certainly be friends with an Atheist (in fact I am to several). What you believe is YOUR business. If God wanted me converting every Tom, Dick, and Jedi he would have made me a priest or something. As my relationship with my God is personal and private, your relationship with whoever or no one is your business.
However those who say you can't be saved unless you've been Born Again, set my teeth on edge. My God is an all loving God.

Do you ever stop to consider that your friend may be incredible BECAUSE of her religion?
.. just a thought
Edit..
Her religion is a part of her. If you choose not to accept that then thats up to you. Sounds to me that she has the good sense to choose not to be close to anyone who has an opposition to her beliefs.
After all, if you can't accept her for all that she is (religious views included) then you're not worthy of her.
Thats what love involves.... accepting ALL of the other person.
....just another thought

i have trouble with the idea of religion interfering with your life. it shouldn't. i know people who have very strong religious views who are happily married to people who have no religion. i admit it is only possible where people are comfortable in their own beliefs that they can live that closely with another without fear of their own beliefs being compromised, isn't it about accepting others rights to believe what they want and not judging them on it. you can still have allot in common and love each other.

If I didn't have Christ in my life, I wouldn't be who I am today. God, the church and the Bible have helped mold me. I try to keep myself where I am morally for God. He made me whole and brought me through some really rough times in my life. I believe wholly that I would not be here on this world right now if it weren't for Him.

My father is Sikh and my mother is Hindu...so I guess i'm kinda stuck in between, so I really don't know what I am. Although I've been reading a lot about Islam and it seems to be very interesting and it also makes a lot of sense.
