I think it shows just how fragile an ecosystem can be. The dinosaurs were some of the most diverse and well-adapted creatures that ever existed, but they were wiped out by a natural disaster. I think it should make us more conscious of the health of our ecosystem and our impact on it. It would be doubly tragic to be the cause of our own extinction.

I've seen people on Y!A saying things like, "Why should we care about the extinction of other species as long as we survive?" The problem with that thinking is that it's never that simple. For example, let's say a predatory species like the wolf became extinct. The impact wouldn't end there, because the animals the wolves preyed on would start to multiply unchecked. They might eat up all of the plants in the area before dying of starvation. That would leave the topsoil unprotected and it could blow away or run off into the waterways....and so on and so on. Every species affects the environment in ways we might never fully appreciate until they're gone. We may not be able to prevent natural disasters, but we can choose not to be a destructive force.

I think God created and scattered fossils to trick the gullible people. There were no dinosaurs at all.

How is this an Environmental question? If you are trying to get at something you need to be a little more specific.

"what do you thing..."
You mean "think", don't you?

What is there to think?
They were creatures that roamed the Earth millions of years ago.
Most likely, a comet or meteor smashed into the Earth, causing mass extinction.

It's all about evolution!
