My Christian Uncle actually teaches his kids that dinosaur bones are actually fake and made out of plaster as a liberal conspiracy against god....
Christians can be very creative when they have to be...
I'm not saying my Uncle is the norm... but people like him exist.

Okay, I just recently made the transition from being athiest to now Christian. But I have some deep roots in Science having a master's degree in metrology which is very much physics. I also have a bachelor's degree in Ancient History of the Levant (Mesopotamia) I can predate all the Biblical observations with the Epic of Gilgamesh the Assyrian Kings lists that predate te earliest parts of the Bible by 1000 to 3000 years. Actually, only an idiot would believe the earth flat. Anyone that could understand the concept of the wheel would discover the earth a sphere revolving and rotating around the sun. But the Bible strikes out on many scientific concepts too. During the 16th Century many experts sought to resolve the Bible with the new emergence of science. That is still ongoing. I am in pursuit of that just for myself. A big problem I have is the Flood. If it happened as stated as a global flood covering the mountains it would require 3 times all the water on and in the earth and in the atmosphere. I have a problem with "What happened to all that water?" I contend flooding the earth was regional and covered the mountains in perhaps the Black Sea or Bosphorous area. That would work to match science. Interchanging that the world was in fact the area the inhabitants traveled lived and could see. I do have a problem with some Christians that on one hand like to disprove science such as carbon dating, but conveniently will use the parts of science that support the Bible (like DNA) I just feel some take the Bible a little too literal or miss that some might be parabales or even pure myth to try to explain things to the people living 2000-3000 years ago when science simply did not exist.

There are actually two viable explainations.
First-When God created the heavens and the earth, it "became" without form and void. In other words, using the text that was original - disorganized and chaotic. This was due to the devil's ( or lucifer an arch angel) rebellion. During this time he was cast down to the earth. Since he thought he could play "GOD" he took things that were already placed here(minerals, organic substance and elements) and made them even more confusing and disorganized. Mainly because the devil already knew what God's plan was and really got ticked off about it. Thats why he tried to take over. Pride got in his head.
Second-There was a flood/ Most of the fossil records are dated to just before the time of a great deluge. One other thing that has also come up is the matter of carbon dating and that it may be erroneous in the technique that is used for dating. Anyway, when Noah gathered the animals, he was going by what God told him to round up. After all it was God that also brought the animals to him. He really did not have to round them up in that sense. LOL
So there you have it. There are quite a few Scripture verses to back all this up. God first created angels and this plan. then as the plan unfolded is where many people get lost. It is really all quite simple but we like to make things complicated if we do not like what we hear.
God Bless you. Hope that helps.

God created dinosaurs, along with other animals, and man, in the six days of creation. The Bible may even make mention of a dinosaur. It describes a giant creature called Behemoth, the mightiest of all, whose tail is likened to a cedar tree (Job 40:15). This may be a reference to Brachiosaurus or another similar dinosaur.
I explain the extinction of dinosaurs from Noah's Flood.
There have been found Aztec drawings that included a bear, a lion, and a tricerotops all in the same image. This could suggest that they all lived at the same time, including during the reign of man.

The Genesis story is a polemic that discusses the relationship between Man and God and the rest of Creation. It is couched in the frame of reference to be familiar to a lower mesopotamian wheat farmer of 6000 years ago. The details of the story are unimportant, at least until you get to Abraham, it's the underlying concept that is important.
Unfortunately, all too many fundamentalists get wrapped up in the details, to the exclusion of the message, and have to invent great intellectual gymnastics to explain the evidence and scientific advancement we have today in the frame of reference of a 6000 year old farmer, which of course is ludicrous..
The details if the genesis story were to be retold today would be much different, but the underlying message would be the same: God created man and earth and the universe, and put man in dominion over it all. Man is inherently disobedient, and suffers for it, generally through his own doing. God desires Man to follow his plan, but recognizes that Man must do so of his own free will, or he is not a man at all, but an animal which is predestined by fate.

The earth was not made in 7 days. I took 6. Why would 7 (or 6) prevent God from making dinosaurs. Of course, God made dinosaurs.

You'll find that 'day' is the King James version of the translation and that modern study believes that it would be better translated as 'periods of time' or something to that effect. Not to mention you can't take eveything that is written in the Bible literally. Hebrew is a language that is naturally written in symbolism and poetry and they tried to translate it to English prose.
As to the dinosaurs themselves, well that's one of the questions I have when He starts answering them and I hope He answers that quickly. I have my own theories about it but they require considerable study before they make sense and I do not have time to illustrate it here. Suffice it to say that I believe that the elements are eternal and you can draw your own conclusions from that.

As more and more is learned about the dinosaurs, and the ages of their fossils, the fundies have become increasingly (and embarrassingly) creative with their explanations. Some of this hilarity can be found on sites dealing with the Creation Museum (a Hall of Fame oxymoron if ever there was one). Some can be found here, with fundie answers ("Noah took only BABY dinos on the ark", etc). They seem to actually think they can conjure up some kind of a believable explanation for the insurmountable discrepancy they are faced with: namely that according to the bible the earth is 6000 years old, and according to fossil evidence, the dinosaurs lived 65+ million years ago. The fundies have no way out of this one. There IS no way out. These fossils prove that the bible is fiction. Yet they resist accepting the truth, and persist in their delusional doctrine. As they old saying goes: "They are more to be pitied than censored."

Depends on how long you think Adam and Eve were in the garden. If they were there a week, then evolution disproves it. But, if they were there millions of years, then evolution would be free to happen all around, right?
Don't say it couldn't have happened, no one lives that long, but think about it, God told them if they ate of the fruit they'd "surely die". That would mean that beforehand they would not die, right?
